The 10 options listed are in fact the franchise's Top (Botom?) 10, only the list is not in order, rather alphabetized by last name. Your "winner is" Lloyd Moseby, who is "only" second in at-bats (to Fernandez) and third in plate appearances (Fernandez, Delgado) in team history.

1. Lloyd Moseby  4057
2. Tony Fernandez  4025
3. Carlos Delgado  3756
4. George Bell  3432
5. Joe Carter  3205
6. Vernon Wells  2971
7. Willie Upshaw  2879
8. Ernie Whitt  2794
9. Alfredo Griffin  2771
10. Damaso Garcia  2746

Like many others, I guessed Fernandez.  Congratulations to those who got this one right.

Well, that's congratulations to just 2 of the first 65 to play! (Three have answered correctly, but one is me and I wrote the durned question, so don't count) ...

Just for comparison's sake, Carl Yastrzemski made 9,126 outs as a Boston Red Sock ... Robin Yount made 8,415 as a Brewer ... Willie Mays made 7,726 as a Giant ...Stan Musial 7,704 as a Cardinal. But I can't find anyone remotely close to Yaz.

The topic led me to look up career leaders for the Jays.

I'm surprised that McGriff is at the top of career OPS+ with the Jays. I'm also surprised he put up a 154 OPS+ with the Jays.  I expected the Crime Dog to be on the list, but I figured that Delgado (#2) or Bell (#5) would be at the top (Olerud at #3 and Alomar at #4 if anyone cares).

Just as surprising to me is Mulliniks at #9.  A career 114 OPS+ and never a full-time player.

A career 114 OPS+ and never a full-time player.

I see career OPS+ of 107?  But in any case, it's no mystery why he was never full time.  Lefties exposed him.

Plus, of course, he wore glasses.  I remember the time that I got up from my chair and walked across the room to read the clock and my dad realized that if I couldn't read the time from where I was sitting, I must need glasses.  He told me and I started to cry, whining: "I don't want to be like Rance Mulliniks!!!".

Sorry, I mean his Jays career.

I was debating between Fernandez (who I picked), Moseby, and Delgado.  Added years with the team (as best I recall) for them and Carter and Bell figuring it had to be one of them.  Moseby's first 3 years were sucktacular (OPS+ in the 70's) and I figured 9 rather than 10 years here.

Fun question to test our memory.  Vern is about 4 years away from taking over so watch out Swish (the nickname my dad had for Moseby and the nickname I always think of for him and very appropriate here).

I confess - I was the third guy punching the Moseby ballot. But it was much closer than I expected - my memory had Moseby ahead on everything that didn't involve Raw Power, and didn't realize Fernandez had overtaken him at several points.

Query, Mick - are those just outs made as a hitter? Tony did hit into 21 more double plays than the Shaker, and I'll wager he was thrown out on the bases at least that many more times. (I'll bet he was thrown out trying to take an extra base at least 10 times in 1990, the year he decided everything he hit was either a triple or nothing.)

By some strange chance, Moseby, Fernandez, and Damaso Garcia were each caught stealing 86 times as a Blue Jay. Moseby, of course, stole many, many more bases than either Tony or Damo. You forget what a marvellous baserunner (and athlete) he was, before the Ex broke him down.

Sweet, I got it right.

Pete Rose was just shy of 8000 outs with the Reds.

Cal is second on the all-time list with 8893 outs with the Orioles. Hank Aaron had 8537 with the Braves (MIlwaukee and Atlanta); Brooks Robinson with the Orioles 8340; Biggio (Astros) 8273. Aside from those already mentioned, that's it as far as 8000+ with one team.

Among active players with 4000+ career outs, only three have played their entire careers with one team. That would be Jeter, Chipper and Helton.
