Yankees take Game 1 of the 5-Game NYY/BOS clash. You are hoping for:
Yanks sweep, 5-0 | 28 (31.82%) |
Yanks 4-1 | 6 (6.82%) |
Yanks 3-2 | 2 (2.27%) |
Sox 3-2 | 28 (31.82%) |

Okay, actually, as I post this, Game 1 isn't over yet so maybe I will jinx NYY into blowing an 11-3 lead in the ninth. We'll see.
I voted Yankees sweep 5-0, but I'd like to change it to Boston 4-1. Maybe then there would be a glimmer of hope for the Jays.
Where's "None of the above -- I'm sick of Boston and the Yankees"?
Considering the Yanks lead the division, why would anybody vote for wanting the Yanks to win all 5 games.
If that were to happen, even Jack Bauer couldn't save the Jays.

I want a second place finish for the Blue Jays.. So I'm hoping for a Yankees Sweep!
It's a good question...if the Yankees sweep, the Jays can pull almost even with the Red Sox, and leave only the 2 Central teams far ahead. I voted for 3-2 boston, leaving room to gain on both teams.
It would also be nice if Minnesota won 2 of 3 from Chicago this weekend, or maybe all 3 (I'd rather see the Twins that the Chi Sox win).
While the divisional play leaves the Jays a better chance in the East (a "punchers chance" as it were), the wild card is tougher, unless the Twins and ChiSox both start losing in bunches.

A Blue Jay sweep in Baltimore. And Hinske to hit 15 doubles (three per game).
Here's an interesting development. The Yankees outscore the Red Sox 26-15, and this is what was required of the pitchers:
Wang 90
Ponson 78
Bruney 56
Proctor 15 + 18
Villone 32
Beam 26
Myers 5 + 11
Rivera 14
Farnsworth 6 (left with an injury)
Johnson 95
Lester 95
Seanez 47
Foulke 42
Snyder 39
Tavarez 32
Timlin 32
Delcarmen 28
Hansen 21
Seven Yankees pitchers threw 351 pitches today, and nine Boston pitchers threw 431. This could be one weird, weird weekend.

I didn't vote, because my preferred option wasn't available:
(f) A mysterious ailment strikes both teams, leaving the players unable to continue. (This hypothetical ailment does not affect any of their lives in any other way, thus allowing the former Sox and Yanks to lead full, happy lives away from the diamond. I'm a rabid Jays fan, but I'm not cruel.)
