If I've said it once I've said it a hundred times. The Jays have more free money than anyone else. With the dollar higher than ever, Rogers owning the tv stations and the stadium the incentive for improvement is extremely high. Add in an obvious weakness at SS and the potential to be losing our third baseman (steroids, injuries, opt-out clause) very soon then A-Rod makes too much sense. He would add 10 wins easily per year which pushes the Jays into serious playoff contention (assuming no other changes).
Ted - spend the *#&! money and go for it. Attitude be damned. This is a baseball team, not a church choir.

And if the contract ever becomes too much of a burden for Toronto, wait for A-Rod to have a killer year and then it suddenly becomes very moveable.
The Braves! They're out Renteria and up a whole lot of money. Plus the mystique of A-Rod fits so well with the dominant regular-season team that never can make it in the playoffs.
I also vote for Ted to do some serious cross-border shopping!
I agree 100% with John. The Canadian Dollar is higher than ever, and will likely remain so for a while longer. Arod is "that guy" who can push us into the playoffs.
The Great White North waits with baited breath for Uncle Ted to bring ARod to our national stage.
The Giants seems like a logical destination to me. And Barry will DH for the Yankees!
AROD would post excellent numbers at the Rogers Center and would probably enjoy playing in Canada.
Throw him in at SS and we've got the best lineup in the AL.
Let's show Calgary we're still Hogtown.
