Most of you are on the sell now bandwagon. Which of the following would you be most reluctant to trade before the trade deadline?
John Buck | 6 (3.61%) |
Jose Molina | 13 (7.83%) |
Lyle Overbey | 2 (1.20%) |
Alex Gonzalez | 66 (39.76%) |
Jose Bautista | 54 (32.53%) |
Kevin Gregg | 3 (1.81%) |
Scott Downs | 19 (11.45%) |
Jason Frasor | 2 (1.20%) |
Brian Tallet | 1 (0.60%) |

The Jays have no one who will be ready to handle short next year, whereas I think there are options at other positions and in the pen. Gonzalez has been a strong addition to the team and I probably has the second most value after Bautista, but it's not clear to me that other teams will be in a rush to acquire him, as he could have been signed this offseason by almost anyone but wasn't.
I'd rather see what McCoy can do because if he can lead off it opens up other line-up options and we aren't tied to starting Lewis if he falters.
I voted for Bautista just because of the potential hole at 3B but I really wouldn't be busted up if he were dealt.

For me, there was no one in the list that I could point to as a long-term piece, anyone I'd be reluctant to part with from an organizational standpoint. I went with the player I'd miss watching the most - Downs. The precision he carves up the strike zone most days, with an assortment of pitches, usually the one the batter is least expecting... Like Marcum, it's fun watching this artist at work.
Needs a "none of the above" option.
I'd trade any of them for a B- prospect.

Gonzalez's 2.5m option makes him the obvious answer for me - he should be brought back even if the Jays find another SS.
The interesting question to me is: "who has the most value to a potential trade partner?". You'd think that the market for Bautista would be pretty good.
There are apparently many who think that Shawn Camp is the Jays' best reliever, as of right now. Sell high.
