Maybe it's just because I love the Tony Phillips / Chone Figgins / ben zobrist types who can play all over the field, but Bautista's versatility could allow us to mix and match our lefty / righty matchups if he's used as a utility player.
I voted "utility" but think it should be pretty much a full time gig, as jerjapan seems to imply. I'm not sold on Lewis facing LHP, especially considering how poor of an outfielder he is, and would imagine there would be plenty of playing time for JoBau if Wallace & Snider are given every day jobs. There's not much in terms of 3B out on the FA market though, so it's an interesting situation to follow.
I used to think Bautista should play 3B every day, but he's also really valuable as a RF (as attested to by his 6 OF assists). I think where he plays depends what the Jays' other options are. If Lewis, Wells and Snider are productive and healthy, they should form the outfield, w/ Bautista at 3B. If Lewis starts to fade, or Snider's wrist becomes a recurring problem, and Encarnacion proves he can post an 800+ OPS in the majors, then Jose should play RF.
I also think the Jays should hang onto Bautista unless another team blows them away with a trade offer.

Bautista's inside the park home run was tonic the doctor ordered after the miserable Blue Jays loss on Tuesday. Great arm, great glove, hits for power and obviously runs like the wind, too. His OA on Sunday was sweet, so I voted outfielder but happy to be in the small minority and would defer to the majority.
