Four pantheon players and "just" a Hall of Famer!

I'm surprised Jackie Robinson isn't getting more support.  Sure Mays has the fabulous, long career, and had tons more power, but Robinson's career numbers would've looked much better without the late start to his major league debut and close to the entire league gunning for him.  Not to mention that whole colour barrier thing - I've just got to break away from statistics in this case. 

While Robinson broke the colour barrier, it isn't as if Mays had an easy ride as black man in MLB during his career... I never got to see Mays play, but I read "Say Hey" as a kid and have had nothing but respect for him since.

By the way, I'd make the separations as Mays, Robinson and Johnson, and Gwynn and Walker. 

Gwynn's 10 "Most Similar" players according to BBRef include include guys like Carew, Boggs, Clemente, Sisler ... I think that qualifies as "pantheon."

Senor Green, I challenge thee!

All right, Monsieur Doherty.  Gwynn's most similar though is Zack Wheat.  Wheat is very similar in many ways.  Line drive hitter, who had his best years after age 33 when the lively ball era arrived.  Somehow "pantheon" and "Zack Wheat" don't really go together in my consciousness, but it might be semantics.

Among rightfielders, there is a top 4 of Ruth, Aaron, F. Robby and Ott.  That would end my pantheon.  Then you've get the next group including Clemente, Kaline, Winfield and Gwynn.  Walker is behind these guys only because of in-season durability.  At his peak (i.e when he was healthy for a full season), Walker was at least even with them.
