Which of these end-of-the-alphabet guys joins Candy Maldonado and Huck Flener in the runoff for "Best Blue Jay Name" (non-nickname variety)?
Jackson Todd | 6 (8.45%) |
Otto Velez | 6 (8.45%) |

Although DeWayne Wise was tempting, i had to go with the Mookster. He was in Game 6. With Buckner.
I hope Jackson Todd isn't getting any votes as having the best backwards name in Toronto history. That honour, of course, goes to Doyle Alexander.
Okay, here's a few other worthy candidates: Damaso Garcia, Heathcliff Johnson, Mickey Klutts, Balor Moore, and Hosken Powell. I'd probably go with Damaso, who was the team's best second baseman for a few years before Robbie Alomar arrived on the scene.
I'm not sure if this name was dropped before, but what about Jayson Werth? I remember when he was traded and almost all of the papers had the original headline "How Much is Jayson Werth?"
I have a soft spot for Viola--if he's listed as "Frankie (Sweet Music) Viola".
