In July 1966, when I was 12, my dad (a lifelong Cubs fan) took me to my first Major League ballgame at Wrigley. Although I had played and followed baseball since I was about 7, I was hooked from that moment on.

I remember nothing about the game, except that we were sitting slightly to the right of the plate, fairly close up and that it was a glorious day.

I would have loved to take my sons to Wrigley last year when the Jays were there, but it was a weekday series, during the school year and the thought of a 9+ hour drive with a then 9 and 10 year old didn't really appeal. Someday, though...

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss?

As silly as it sounds, if someone came up to me and said that I could attend a MLB game at any stadium I wanted, I'd say Olympic Stadium. I can't explain it, but it's always intrigued me.

Well, I've attended a game at Coors (saw Randy Johnson get lit up in 2004), and I'm curious as to why it made the list. It was a nice park, and the "mile high" strip near the top of the stadium is neat. Nothing against it, although Seattle was better, in my opinion.

As a kid, I always wanted to go to Tigers stadium. The overhang was cool, and so was the 450 foot centre field. Plus they were a rival. Now, I'm voting for Fenway, another favourite as a kid.

Since I've been to Wrigley many times, and have no real desire to go to Yankee Stadium or Fenway Park, I think my next pick would be Busch Stadium in St. Louis. Not so much because it's brand-new and bound to ahve all the amenities, but because the ans have a reputation for being very knowledgeable, and for the most part being very pleasant folks.

I've been to Wrigley, Fenway and Yankee already. I think that my list-topper would be Your Name Here Park in San Francisco. Camden Yards would be number two, I'd like to see the place that started the retro craze.

Nice choices, Platinum. San Francisco and Baltimore are both delightful places to take in a game, especially in the daytime.

You may be surprised, but PNC Park in Pittsburgh is every bit the equal of those two stadia. It's a beautiful, classy place.

I hope to add Kansas City and Oakland to my list this year. Of the current 30, I'm up to 16 (eight in each league), and PNC is as good as any I've seen. I voted for Dodger Stadium, which I really ought to get to one of these years.

I really liked Tiger Stadium when I went there, I liked the flag pole in centrefield. I also got a free pair of tube socks as part of some promotion for kids under 12 (I didn't apreciate the full ugliness of a pair of socks with Orange and Blue stripes at the time). I picked Wrigley but I'd like to get tickets for the bleachers on top of the building across the road (Waveland?) from the park.

I almost included Tiger Stadium out of habit -- been there many times -- but it doesn't exist any more and I don't like what I've seen of the CoPa.

I chose Wrigley, although I suspect that up close it would be a grave disappointment. I'd probably enjoy Coors or PNC the most, but if I could put any of the current ballparks in Toronto (i.e. to attend dozens of times a year, instead of just going once) the only park I can think of I'd rather have than the current pile o' concrete would be Safeco Field. (Not that I've ever been, just that it fits Toronto's needs the best).

If I could watch a game at any park of my choosing in history, I suppose it would be the Polo Grounds, but that's more for my own antiquarian reasons than anything else.

I suppose it should be the team or the ballpark that is the determining factor, but... I love L.A.!

Otherwise, Fenway. Never been there, for one thing, and I've written about the place. When it was new...

Not expecting votes, just an invitation to those who don't think of Anaheim as a great baseball destination. 40+ years an Angels' fan, only in the last 5 would I suggest a visit to the Big A would be a treat for a true baseball lover. But the remodeled stadium is awesome, the crowds are big and loud yet respectful, the team is exciting, the food is great as is the weather, and I am finally proud to invite fans from across the country to my home field.

I was planning on a visit to Fenway may 3rd and 4th. I have tickets for the 3rd but my girlfriend has left for grad school in Austrailia so I'm left without someone to go to Boston with. If I can somehow score monster tickets for the 4th I'd go alone if nessessary.

I really liked Comeria Park. I attended the All Star game there and found it to be a beautiful park in a not so beautiful city. Many choices of food, fresh squeezed lemonaid and friendly staff. The only place I have to compare it with is skydome / rogers centre. They also had airport style metal detectors but that was only for the all star game.

Me, I'm happy to "dress like a monkey" and go to Yankee Stadium to pay homage. And I don't find the thought of a "big nasty redhead" that appealing, either.

Having already been to Dodger Stadium (when the Jays visited for their first and so far only time), I voted for Fenway. It's a stadium I've seen on TV so many times and I figure would be quite different from the "modern" ballparks I've been to in the past (Kingdome, Skydome, Safeco and Dodger Stadium). Plus games against a divisional rival add to the appeal.

Since I'm lucky enough to have been to Fenway, Yankee Stadium and Wrigley by the age of 18, I'd go with Camden Yards in Baltimore, I've always thought it was a really cool park and would love to see a game there.

I'm hoping to make the trip to coors to see the Jays in may. I dont know if I will drive or fly, but now that I am based in Calgary, a fan has to do what a fan has to do. Might try and do Seattle for a jays series next year.

I hear the park in Pittsburgh (PNC?) is unbelievable. I've been to Wrigley, so that is where I'd like to go.

Has anyone ever sat in the monster seats at fenway? I managed to get standing room for may 4th, So I guess I will be making my first trip to fenway in exactly 2 months.

A family friend of mine who happens to be a bench coach of the Yankee's told me that Jacob's field is the best park in Baseball, that and Oriole Park. Though Tiger Stadium is his ultimate.

He's not a big fan of Fenway b/c it's gross and dirty. He loves Yankee b/c it's Yankee but he can't wait for the updated park.

I chose Fenway b/c I'd love to see the Jays play there this summer & I've already been to Yankee Stadium...I was at the Doc/Randy Johnson game last summer and it was one of the greatest night's of my life. I'm hoping to go to Safeco this summer when I'm out West.

I picked Yankee Stadium because I've already been to Fenway (if you go just once try what I did, standing room tickets then wander throughout the stadium between innings - saw a few from under the scoreboard in CF, then watched a lot from the roof over 1B - great fun from up there, small group but you are actually standing on a rooftop), plus Yankee Stadium is scheduled to be demolished and I'd love to see it once before it goes away forever. Wrigley and Dodger Stadium are high on my list too.

Olympic Stadium was great fun to watch a game in as the fans were so enthusiastic (those who were there) and the roof was still orange then (1994).

Those of you who missed out on Tiger Stadium really missed out on something special. Being at the park that Ty Cobb was a rookie in was something special. Of course, due to poor maintenance it was in poor shape even when I went in '88/'89. Sigh. What a waste.

I'm planning a Comerica trip in September for two Jays games, which (without sounding cocky, because we made that mistake before 2004) *might* be a series we clinch *something*. If anybody's done the trip before and stayed in Detroit or Windsor, it would be greatly appreciated if you could drop me a line if you have any tips or suggestions.

I went the last year of Tiger Stadium but I am sure my advice still is relevant. Stay in Windsor. Downtown Detroit is scary. When they first started building Comerica, the idea was that they were going to keep the "Tiger Stadium" feel. That would have been great. I haven't been to Comerica, but it looks like every other mallpark out there. I am planning on going to Pittsburgh this year. The park is supposed to be just gorgeous. I love Camden Yards a lot but too many of the new parks have copied it so it's lost a little something.
