I voted Wieters, but I expect that he'll end up with about 20% of the vote here. Home-field advantage.
Arencibia will probably have more HRs & RBIs but I expect a higher wOBA from Wieters.
I voted for JPA cause Im a Jays fan and anything otherwise would feel wrong..
That being said, if someone put a gun to my head, and told me I had to bet my life savings on this questions in Vegas, I would have taken Wieters...

Voted JPA because he will have a better year with the bat but not in a baseball related way.
I voted Wieters because he has had 800 ABs over 2 seasons 350+450. Looks like he will get more ABs this year than JPA, maybe 100 ABs more, and he was batting in the 5th spot yesterday.
Both must stay healthy.
I believe JPA hit the ball very hard in his last AB Sunday afternoon. 20 Hr in under 400 ABs for JPA would be awesome but Wieters may top that.
Then there are other catching skills to consider. I don't know how to evaluate that.

Im 96.5 % sure that Weiters will have the higher AVg/OBP, but there is a good chance JP has a higher SLG. You ask this question anywhere other than a BJ website you will get laughed out of town.
Well, Wieters has 900 PA of .314 wOBA ball, it's not like he's exactly lit the world on fire. Marcel and Zips have him at .320-.325 this year. Arencibia probably has a broader spectrum of possible outcomes, but one of them would have to be hitting 25 home runs, which would make him pretty valuable with the bat assuming he is able to get on base at all.
Jdog, I don't know, I wouldn't be surprised if it would get taken seriously on an Orioles-oriented site. After the expectations that were put on him coming out of the draft, the Orioles fans I've talked to are usually not just underwhelmed, but downright pessimistic about the kid. I don't hold that view myself, just saying that a lot of people have really soured on him...
Maybe. But if the O's came to Toronto and said "Weiters for Arencibia?" I think the Jays would break something trying to sign the deal faster than possible.
