I voted Peavy and Young. Obviously Oswalt and Pettitte is a good choice.

I figure the St. Louis and Philly combos were the best bets. Wish I'd voted for Lieber/Myers. I could have been first!

I voted first, and then I did the research. That's getting it backwards, right? Anyway...

Five of these 10 pairs combined for more than 400 IP last year; and of those five, all but one saw both pitchers post ERA below 4.00. The four Cubs and Dodgers all pitched well enough (highest ERA of the group was Penny at 3.90), but the two Cubs fell short by 10 innings, and the two Dodgers by less than three.

And one of those pairs not only combined for more than 400 IP; both pitchers had ERAs below 3.00, and neither was even the best starting pitcher on his own team? And I didn't vote for them?
