What, no Mariano Rivera option?
I have no clue. Any of Dotel, Rauch and Fuentes would have been okay, I think.

In almost all of these polls I want to choose -
E)None of the above.
I wouldn't have chosen or signed anyone to be the Jays' closer. I would have done what AA did and signed both Rauch & Dotel (or 2 similar relievers) and pursued Fuentes and let my bullpen hierarchy sort itself out in spring training if Farrell is married to the idea of a "closer". I'm glad the Blue Jays weren't the ones to guarantee Fuentes 2 years though and limit their 2012 flexibility and I'd bet that was the difference between Toronto & Oakland's offers.

My preference would've been to eliminate the closer role altogether, but sadly that wasn't one of the options listed.

What would be the point? No one who actually wears a uniform would regard that as a serious option.
Hey, I feel your pain.
