Just a question for those who voted Hudson. Do you think he is going to take a huge step forward with the bat, or was it based on his solid defense?

Defense. I think that Gold Glove will really get him noticed among voters, and the relative thinness of good 2B hitters should give him an advantage over Vernon playing in a position filled with flashy sluggers. Apart from those two, the only other Jay I can see going to the ASG is Hillenbrand, and that's only if he duplicates his '05 first half.

Hillenbrand's going to really have to be all-star like in he first half of 2006 if he wants to get it on. Don't forget it was the players that picked him and my impression is that players pick other players whom they feel 'deserve' it as supposed to who is the best option.

Now that Shea's had his moment given to him by the players, the only way I see him getting in is thorugh fan voting, which I also can't see happening.

Btw, don't forget to check off "GREGG ZAUN" on your ballots. Zaun rally days to follow.
