I voted for the G's narrowly over the J's. Gibson and Grove vs. Johnson and Johnson...high heat against baby powder.:)
The H's are also extremely strong. I think in a pennant race I'd handicap them

The J's are surely the most pitching-heavy of all teams relative to their offense. The J's pitching is ridiculous - four of the forty or so best pitchers who ever lived, two of the top eight, and a 288-game winner as your fifth starter. They have defensive problems, but they would lead this league in fewest runs allowed by a mile.

What's fun about the H's is Hamilton and Henderson at the top of the lineup. Hornsby would presumably bat cleanup.

The H's are on-base machines. You have Henderson, Hamilton, Heilmann and Hornsby at the top of the lineup; between them, they finished top-3 in OBP in their league 35 times and won 13 batting titles. Hamilton and Henderson had 17 stolen base crowns between them. (Hartnett and Howard also finished top-3 in OBP once each.)
Howard and Horner, hitting after those other four, would generate massive RBI numbers. I'd then use Hernandez (not Hodges) to get the offense moving again, and follow with Hartnett and Hamner.

The G's do it for me. Gehrig's a pretty good bet as best 1b ever, Gibson was one of the best (if not the best) Negro Leaguers - throw in HanK Greenberg, Tony Gwynn and Ken Griffey Jr... its a pretty good, with Nomar probably hitting last. Vladdy to pinch hit.

In a short series with Grove and Gibson at the top of the rotation, and Pud Galvin not being chopped liver, and Gagne and Gossage anchoring the bullpen, the Gs would be tough. I suspect that you'd want Vladimir in right to add to the power core, with Gwynn moving over to left.
