There's talk that Marte isn't recovering from a shoulder injury and that Atlanta cooled on his prospect status. Apparently Boston knew about Marte's shoulder and still made the deal. I wish I could give a source but this is heresay from Primer. If true, then it really changes how this deal is evaluated.
Maybe it's irrational, but I don't like Edgar Renteria at all. Boston wins because they got rid of a huge contract and got a player that MIGHT be good, unlike Renteria who definitely won't.
