Apologies to Matt Morris and Brett Myers, among others who probably deserve consideration, but this poll only allows for nine options plus "Other."
How about that -- the first three candidates alphabetically are all ex-Jays!

How does Doug Davis get on over Brett Myers, or Matt Morris for that matter? He hasn't been awful, but Myers has been fantastic and Morris hasn't lost yet.
My bad, Morris is 8-1, but with an ERA a full run lower than Davis.
Top 10 by VORP, not including today's game (like Smoltz's gem):
1. D Willis 46.6 2. Roger Clemens 46.3 3. Pedro Martinez 36.5 4. Roy Oswalt 36.3 5. Brett Myers 32.4 6. John Smoltz 31.7 7. Jake Peavy 30.4 8. Mark Redman 28.9 9. Chris Carpenter 28.7 10. Livan Hernandez 27.4L Looks likes a 2 horse race to me.
Hippy, fair question, and as you saw, I had Morris and Myers on the short list of "almosts." I'm afraid I went with the popular misconception that a pitcher can be judged by wins, and Davis is on pace to win 20, with nine already, more than Morris or Myers. Obviously, I'd rather have Morris if I were starting a team today.
But I didn't think too hard about it because, frankly, I didn't think any of the three had a chance to win the poll and I thought it'd be fun to put Davis on the list -- you can make an argument that he belongs there, after all -- if only to see who complained. You win! :-)

How does one possibly decide between two guys who are essentially dead even in Willis and Clemens? I gotta go with Dontrelle on this one, solely based on him being 12-2, even though Clemens has probably pitched a tiny bit better.
