Lots of good candidates not on the list. The only '07 40-homer guy not listed is Carlos Pena, who frankly (that's an ironic word there -- keep reading) needs to prove he can do it again. So to include a Blue Jay, I cut Pena and included Frank Thomas, who is probably not worthy of being on the list any more, honestly.
That said, I went with Fielder. A-Rod is the easy choice, but I think Prince is a 500-homer guy waiting to happen for a career that will far outshine Big Daddy's.
Alex Rios won Round 1 of the Home Run Derby in convincing fashion, and he is my candidate to lead MLB in home runs in 2008.
Forgotten about Abreu's post-homerun derby swoon?
Forgotten about Howard's post-homerun derby bloom?

In his 11 year career, he has hit over 20 homers four times and once over 30 homers. He had a monster first half that year but it's hard to swoon when you've never been a big home run hitter.

Fielder: pure power. 23 years old. 50 HR in 573 AB. Only 121 K's. Walks up, K's down from 2006.
