Before the Ian Snell brouhaha starts up again -- just as in our last
poll, which was for AL non-pitchers (of which he is neither), this is
for NL non-pitchers (of which he is just one) ... so, yes, the
Pittsburgh rep is less than ideal right now. But if not Snell, by the
terms of this poll, then who?
Ryan Howard doesn't even make a "who got snubbed list?"?!
I thought about Howard, too -- but take a moment and ask yourself, does this:
Rollins is the Phillie most snubbed, I think. Either would be a better choice than Rowand, but I can understand LaRussa not wanting to have five 1B on the roster, and Howard is the odd man out. Yes, yes, Adrian Gonzalez (.265/14/62) is on the list and probably shouldn't be, by that same argument. My bad there, though AG's Gold-Glove calibre defence at least bears mention, too.
- Ryan Howard .256/21/65
- Prince Fielder .284/29/68
- Derrek Lee .331/6/42
- Albert Pujols .309/16/51
- Dmitri Young .339/8/43
