Cardinals in 7. Not that they're a better club, but it's hard to win a 7 game series with as little starting pitching as the Mets have. I thought that John Maine would be a key player for the Mets in 2006. Oddly, he might end up being the key player in the playoffs. If he can deliver two quality starts, the Mets will probably win.
For the record, I picked the Tigers. But that's okay. I went with the Mets, even though they have no pitching. The Dodgers had more pitching and they are watching the NLCS at home, which goes against everything I have ever learned about playoff baseball. Crazy things happen in October.
Oh, and the NL SUCKS.
I'm picking the Mets in 5 because I think the Cards will be hurt by not having Carpenter going until Game 3. I think the Mets are better offensively and well, they have Delgado. That's all the reasons I need. It should be a Tigers-Mets Fall Classic.
Maybe if all those sarcastic folks who picked the Yankees to win the ALCS had used their sharp sense to choose a real team, the result could have been different.
I pick the Dodgers to win the NLCS. That Grady Little is Manager of the Year material.
