Like Dave Berg, who we remembered yesterday, Jason Kershner also left the Blue Jays this offseason to sign with the Boston Red Sox, hoping to catch on with the World Champions.
Please share your memories of Jason Kershner in this thread.
In all the hustle and bustle of the offseason, particularly our software change, I forgot to collect our thoughts on some departed players.
Please share your memories of Dave Berg in this thread.
Dave Stieb was named to the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame a couple of weeks ago, and that seemed a good enough reason to look back at one of the greatest Blue Jays of them all.
Those of you not old enough to have seen him in his prime, from 1981 through 1985: trust me. You really missed something. No one else quite like him.

Who is this mysterious Blue Jay?
Do you recognize him?
And what is he grinning about anyway?
The Carlos Delgado Sweepstakes has finally ended, some six weeks after the Jays had to bow out.
ESPN reports that Carlos will now be taking aim at the rightfield seats at the newly-renamed Dolphins Stadium; the deal is with the Florida Marlins for four years at $52 million, plus a vesting option. Considering the contract he ultimately signed, it would have taken one heck of a hometown discount for the Jays to have landed their all-time leading slugger this offseason.

Remembering Chris Woodward, who spents parts of 5 seasons with the Blue Jays.
Amidst all the excitement over the newest Blue Jay, pitcher Chad Gaudin, we oughtn't forget the pleasures brought to us by the man traded for him, Kevin Cash.
The Baltimore Orioles
announced today that they have signed Chris Gomez to a minor-league deal with an invitation to spring training.
It's a sad departure for me, at least, because Gomez proved me wrong in spades, with a fine year as a Blue Jays infielder. I was hoping he'd stick around, but the Jays obviously had other priorities.
Please share your memories of Chris Gomez in this thread. GOMEZ HIT GRAND SLAM NOW.

Ken Caminiti, former Astro, Padre, Brave and Ranger, has passed away from heart failure at the age of 41, according to ESPN.com.
Caminiti was a three-time All-Star and three-time Gold Glove winner. He was the 1996 National League MVP after leading the Padres to the NL West title.
The Canadian Press
reports that John Cerutti was found dead in his hotel room Sunday morning.
No details of the death have been given at this time.
We at Batters Box pass on our condolences to John's friends and family. This is shocking and horrible news.

Please share your *good* memories of Carlos Tosca with us in this thread.
Note : Please stay on-colour and at least moderately respectful of a man I like and admire. Anyone who wants to go all H. L. Mencken on Tosca is encouraged to do it elsewhere.
Please share your memories of Josh Phelps with us in this thread.
It was reported in the Globe and Mail today that Pete Walker's contract has been sold to the Yokohama BayStars of Japan's Central League.
Lurch, the athlete-turned-ballplayer, was impossible not to root for, and at times nearly impossible to watch. I hope he can consolidate himself in Tampa Bay; he's a hard worker and nice fellow, and if he can learn to trust his stuff and avoid getting too predictable, he still may have some success.
Please share your memories of Mark Hendrickson in this thread.
Easily the most significant long-term Blue Jay lost this offseason was Kelvim Escobar.
