Road trip, beginning with two in that old House of Horrors, Tropicana Field.
So there I was on the last Blue Jays off day thinking - I didn't prepare on off-day time waster, for a day without baseball. How will I ever look anyone in their virtual eyes again?
Oh quite easily, I assure you.
Jimmy Robbins had eleven strikeouts in Vancouver's win. Cooper Benson had eight K's in Dunedin's win. New Hampshire just hit four home runs to help them win. Buffalo suffered the only loss as Casey Lawrence was not his usual self.
Buffalo came from behind with three runs in the eighth to win. New Hampshire came from behind with two runs in the ninth to win. Dunedin won from the front. Vancouver did come back from a 4-1 deficit but ultimately lost. Addison Barger had four hits. This is your abbreviated long weekend minor league update.
Some nights your minor league update struggles to find players to put in the three stars. This was not the case on Friday. Otto Lopez had four hits with two home runs. Three other players had three hits. Thomas Hatch went seven innings. Riley Tirotta scored the winning run for Vancouver by singling, stealing two bases, and scoring on a two out bunt.
Buffalo, Vancouver, Dunedin and the FCL Jays all won. New Hampshire were the only losers.

New Hampshire hit four home runs, two from Orelvis Martinez, on their way to racking up 17 runs. Dunedin used two home runs in the last inning to turn a loss into a win in game one of their doubleheader. They scored eight runs in game two without a home run. While New Hampshire and Dunedin were feasting on runs, Buffalo and Vancouver were fasting, Vancouver had just one hit in ten innings.
Things have not gone as planned for the 2022 Tigers.
Buffalo, New Hampshire and Dunedin won Wednesday. Vancouver didn't.
The affiliates were 0-3 Tuesday. Dunedin's game in Clearwater was rained out. Those teams will play two today.
Another short-handed team crosses the border.
Buffalo used eight pitchers in a 1-0 win. New Hampshire used seven pitchers in a 9-7 win. Orelvis Martinez had a big day. Another hitter with a big day was Jommer Hernandez for Vancouver who homered in the ninth for the game winning hit. The disappointment of the day was Dunedin who lost both ends of a doubleheader.
Buffalo and New Hampshire fell behind early but both won. Orelvis Martinez and Adam Kloffenstein had big games for the Fisher Cats. Vancouver also fell behind early but in their case no comeback was forthcoming. The FCL Jays also lost while the rains fell on Dunedin.
Yusei Kikuchi and a Spencer Horwitz home run was the recipe for a Buffalo win. A pair of two run home runs helped Vancouver roll off another win, their ninth straight. New Hampshire and Dunedin were losers while the FCL Jays split a pair.

The second half begins at the damp and moldy home of the Red Sox. There are some who think Fenway Park is quaint, but mostly it's old.
