The long awaited trade with the Phillies was Rosario for cash?  Apparently, $100,000 was the price.

I thought there would be several teams that could use Rosario, even for a long shot prospect in A ball, but I apparently thought wrong.

 Here's the roster.  Towers will be the 5th starter, Zambrano is in the bullpen.  Accardo, Janssen and Marcum are in the pen.

Rosario has been designated for assignment and will almost certainly be traded.

Well that's not good. I was thinking a rain out would be the worst news of the day.

Chacin was stopped by Tampa Police at 3:43 a.m., booked, then released on a $500 bond later in the morning.  Police reports said his blood alcohol content measured .15 at the time of his arrest, almost twice the legal limit of .08.

Alex Rios and the Jays agreed on a one year, $2.535 million contract, essentially splitting the difference between their arbitration figures.

UPDATE (9:00 pm):  Downs and Johnson also agreed to one year contracts.

A Canadian Press story on the Globe's website reports that the Blue Jays have signed Victor Zambrano to a minor league contract.  Additionally, the deal includes a team option for 2008.

Zambrano missed most of 2006 after having Tommy John surgery in May.

According to Ken Rosenthal the Blue Jays have signed Tomo Ohka to a 1 year contract. Jeff Blair writes that the deal is for $1.5 million with incentives that could push the deal to $3.0 million.

ESPN.com reports that the deal is pending a physical set to take place later this week. Ohka is currently in Japan.

Slick-fielding shortstop Ray Olmedo was claimed by the Jays from Cincinnati. To make room on the 40 man roster, Ryan Roberts was designated for assignment.

The Jays have not yet come to agreement with their three remaining arbitration eligible players: Alex Rios, Reed Johnson and Scott Downs. Today they exchanged offers.

Jeff Blair writes that the Jays and Vernon Wells agreed to a contract on Friday night. Peter Gammons notes that the deal is pending the approval of the Player's Union.
