There were plenty of home runs for the affiliates on Sunday. How is this for a list of those who homered. Kevin Smith, Gabriel Moreno, Jordan Groshans, Orelvis Martinez, Otto Lopez, Vinny Capra, Addison Barger and Rafael Lantigua. You get a home run, you get a home, everyone gets a home run.

Buffalo, New Hampshire and Vancouver all won, Dunedin lost. On the pitching side Jacob Waguespack and Simeon Woods Richardson stood out.

The Fisher Cats racked up 22 hits in their game. Austin Martin, Samad Taylor and Vinny Capra led the hitters. Elvis was in the building. Buffalo won as did Dunedin. Naswell Paulino pitched well. Vancouver were the only losers on Saturday.

Zach Logue dominated in his first start of 2021 at AAA. Seven shutout innings was just the ticket for a Buffalo win. New Hampshire rallied late for their win. Vancouver struggled while Dunedin split a doubleheader.

Gabriel Moreno hit a grand slam, New Hampshire was down 10-2 at the time, but a slam is a slam. Buffalo won as Thomas Hatch and Nick Allgeyer pitched well. The C's had excellent pitching from Adrian Hernandez and plenty of hitting and won. Dunedin were rained out.

The affiliates racked up 30 runs in three games but that was only enough for one win. New Hampshire's game was cut short and will play two today.

Vinny Capra, who I assume is someone's cousin, went deep twice for New Hampshire on Sunday. Samad Taylor also hit his ninth home run. Anthony Kay and Paxton Schultz had similarly disappointing starts. Buffalo couldn't recover but Vancouver did. Dunedin were rained out.

Jordan Groshans came to the plate in the ninth inning of a tied game with the bases loaded. He doubled to clear them. It was more of a bloop to right than a line drive but he will take it. Dunedin bashed out 16 hits in their win. Buffalo lost in extra innings. Vancouver also lost. To add to the Jays injury woes, TJ Zeuch had to leave the game after being hit by a batted ball.

A clean sweep on the farm. Two of the wins came in extra innings. New Hampshire scored two in the ninth and eight in the tenth. Several hitters had big nights. Dunedin got a triple in the tenth from Mac Mueller to win. Buffalo won from the front with Thomas Hatch and Nick Allgeyer pitching. Vancouver got ahead early and cruised, Adam Kloffenstein pitched well.

Some good news on the farm on Thursday. Nate Pearson pitched well. The New Hampshire bullpen picked up their first save of the season in game 32. Sem Robberse looks to be finding his groove. Samad Taylor and Kevin Smith continued to get on base. The Bison's split a doubleheader, New Hampshire and Dunedin won. Vancouver lost.

Three out of four wins on Sunday thanks to good pitching. Thomas Hatch and TJ Zeuch combined in Buffalo. Kyle Johnston pitched well for New Hampshire but the bullpen wasn't up to the job. Paxton Schultz was excellent for Vancouver and Naswell Paulino pitched well for Dunedin.

We are approx. 30 games into the minor league season. After last years "lost year" there was come concern that players would come back rusty and out of game fitness. There were stories in the press about sloppy play in the first few weeks of the season. Well with thirty games under their belt, the players should be good to go now. We can give players and pitchers mulligans for the first thirty games but now its down to business. Players who want to move up the prospect lists should start to see their numbers improve from here.

I have tried not to be too judgmental on players to this point. I will be watching more closely over the next thirty games.

Riley Adams hit two home runs yesterday, Samad Taylor repeated the feat today. Taylor leads the Fisher Cats with six home runs. Riley Adams added another home run on Saturday. Taylor's bombs helped New Hampshire win. Adams shot was in a losing cause although Nick Allgeyer looked like his old self. The C's lost behind Adam Kloffenstein while Dunedin returned to their losing ways.
