How on earth did (or didn't) that happen? I guess I photographed a lot of Molina games in the early going.
Well, now that I've seen the error of my ways, I promise that you'll get a second shot of Zaunie in the coming days. Meanwhile, here's Gregg Zaun getting ready for game time:
Sorry, it's about seven hours late. I fell asleep.
Here's Troy Glaus, throwin' the ball back over to first base:
Yeah, I know it's not his start today. So what? I like this picture of Gustavo Chacin, and I'm sharing it with you today.
Don't look the Photo of the Day horse in the mouth.
It's an off-day. No one can get injured on an off-day, right? Right?
Here's Frank Catalanotto, focusing on the pitcher:
Seriously, who else could it be?
Today's photograph celebrates Vernon Wells, whose bat should have those wicked flames painted up it -- you know, the kind they put on cars to make them go faster. A friend of mine bought a PT Cruiser a few years back. He got a black one and had a custom paint job done with those flames. When I saw it I laughed so hard that I had to sit down. He was more than a little offended (I believe his exact words were "Dude, you're laughing at my car"), but I managed to convince him that my laughter was in appreciation of the sheer awesomeness of his new vehicle.
I hope he doesn't read Batter's Box.
updated with a silly flame decal version -- see the comments.

Who doesn't need Roy Halladay adorning their desktop? I know I could use him on mine.
Plus you get to see what Photo of the Day looks like when lit by the sun, for a change -- too bad they closed the roof shortly after the game began. (And in other news, those irritating little specks that I was retouching out of the pictures of Troy Glaus were apparently bugs! The things you miss when you're at the other end of a long lens in the camera bay...)
update: I just heard that Edgardo Alfonzo will make his Jays debut tonight -- scroll down to see a bonus Photo of the Day of Edgardo as an Angel a few weeks ago.
John McDonald, the Minister of Defense, takes a run towards a ground ball in today's photograph:
From Tuesday night against the Devil Rays, here's Shea Hillenbrand smacking the tar out of a baseball -- it landed somewhere in the cheap seats.
It don't get any fresher than this!
From Tuesday's Jays-Rays tilt, mere hours ago, here's Aaron Hill leaping over Ty Wigginton to turn the double play:
