This is your abbreviated, long weekend, 12 hour power failure, minor league update. Zach Britton was the offense for Vancouver in their win. He went deep twice, including a walk off bomb, and scored all of the C's three runs. Gabriel Moreno had four hits including his first home run. Buffalo won in eleven innings. New Hampshire lost despite hitting four home runs. Hayden Juenger and Adam Kloffenstein ran into some trouble.

Maximo Castillo was dominant in pitching seven innings as Buffalo won. Ricky Tiedemann also had an excellent debut as Vancouver recorded a narrow victory. Dahian Santos also pitched wll and Dunedin had a third win for the affiliates. New Hampshire were the exception and lost.

Buffalo split a doubleheader with good pitching, holding Syracuse to two runs total over two games. New Hampshire scored just one run over their two games, their hitting was generally absent and the pitching poor. Vancouver's bullpen and some errors cost them their game while Dunedin also were let down by a pitcher and lost.

The hitters were the stars on Sunday. Buffalo won one, of two, with New Hampshire and Dunedin also winning. Vancouver were blown out.

The minor league season is around one fifth done, with one fifth being 30 games. So I thought it was time to have a look at how the prospects in the system are doing. The start of the season is often slow as players get accustomed to a new level and as the weather does not always cooperate. So this is an early look with lots of baseball yet to be played.

After Yosver Zulueta racked up ten strikeouts yesterday, Ricky Tiedemann joined the ten K club on Friday. Despite the K's he gave up two runs and Dunedin lost. Paxton Schultz picked up eight K's and Orelvis Martinez and Spencer Horwitz homered. Buffalo went to extra innings and won thanks to Gabriel Moreno's third hit of the night. It's the rainy season out west and Vancouver got another night off.

Yosver Zulueta was impressive in his latest rehab start. He should be ready for a higher assignment soon. Luis Quinones made his first rehab start and he should be headed to AA in a few weeks. Recently signed former major leaguer Brady Lail threw five innings for New Hampshire. Offensively LJ Talley, who has been hitting well for New Hampshire, has been sent down to New Hampshire. As a result Steward Berroa has been moved from NH to Vancouver and Hugo Cardona from Vancouver to Dunedin. Once Cavan Biggio and Danny Jansen return other players could be pushed down through the system to additionally add more depth at each level.

On the field New Hampshire and Dunedin had nice wins while Buffalo and Vancouver lost.

Yesterday the affiliates were short of hits. On Sunday several affiliates were again not hitting, but that didn't stop the winning. Buffalo had only six hits, and lost. New Hampshire had four hits across two games but split the doubleheader. They scored six runs on three hits and two runs on one hit. Dunedin scored seven runs on five hits and won. Vancouver scored 13 runs on 13 hits and won, being the exception to the lowly hits club.
