About a year ago, I introduced a new stat called Dominance Ratio (DR), right here at
the Box. Now that a year has passed, I thought I would revisit my top 10 list of dominant minor league starting pitchers and make a new top ten list for 2013.
It comes down to reality, and it's fine with me 'cause I've let it slide.
When we last visited Slaughtergarde,
the fantasy baseball league where all the statistics are fake, we were
reeling from our disastrous draft. Few owners assembled the teams they were trying to; some of us felt lucky to escape with our lives.
Now that we are a few weeks in, some narratives are forming:
Only three games were played on Wednesday, New Hampshire split a doubleheader and Lansing won. Buffalo were rained out and Dunedin had a day off.
In the doubleheader New Hampshire had only three hits in game one while New Britain had only two hits in game two. Ryan Tepera was outstanding, he gave up one hit in six innings and his sinker was really working.
Tatlor Cole and the bullpen pitched well for Lansing and the offense came through for the win.

Prerecorded for this time zone.
The Buffalo winning streak continues and Dunedin got back in the win column. Lansing came up short while New Hampshire had an unscheduled night off.
Apply only to affected area.
Buffalo extended its winning streak to eight games and Lansing got a big fly and six stolen bases. The other team named the Blue Jays came up short.
Don't say words you're gonna regret.
A trio of pitching prospects took the hill today. Aaron Sanchez was excellent, Daniel Norris was OK while Deck McGuire was disappointing. Miguel Batista, definitely not a prospect, pitched very well for Buffalo. Buffalo kept on winning, Dunedin won too, but New Hampshire and Lansing lost.

It all keeps adding up, I think I'm cracking up!
Buffalo took both ends of a doubleheader. Dave Bush and Claudio Vargas provided good starting pitching while Luis Jimenez and Anthony Gose provided the offense. Dunedin had a come from behind win, Jon Berti was the star. New Hampshire were shut out, Marcus Walden pitched better. Lansing were beaten up badly but they did have 14 hits led by Christian Lopes.
If condition persists, consult your physician.
New Hampshire and Dunedin were the winners, Lansing the losers and Buffalo were all wet. Austin Bibens-Dirkx got back on track with the Fisher Cats. Ryan Schimpf and Kevin Pillar had home runs, Pillar had to leg his out. Jesse Hernandez was outstanding for Dunedin, as was Jon Berti. Taylor Cole and Alonzo Gonzalez were roughed up in Fort Wayne.
I feel fine enough, I guess, considering everything's a mess.
