With the young season maturing, the BBFL divisions start to take on some shape, so now seems a good time to start our weekly updates.

The world's politest fantasy league returns.
Update - Feb 21st:
Existing Owners, please reply to me ASAP if you haven't let me know if you'll be returning. I want to get this years ownership list finalised this weekend, and I really don't want to drop anyone without hearing from them. Even if you're not coming back just drop me a line to let me know, thanks to all owners who have responded, there are five I'm still waiting to hear from.
Update2 :
I forgot that Opening Day is officially March 25th. Therefore I don't think yahoo is going to let us draft on March 27th. Let's schedule March 20th at 9pm as our preferred draft time. We'll have to shorten the trading window a little. I'll post an updated timetable at the weekend.

As the BBFL regular season concludes we congratulate our regular season league champions. The Austin Senators in Alomar, the Eastern Shore Birds in Barfield and the Trembling Wilburys in the Carter Division.
As the BBFL enters the final week of the regular season there is still a lot at stake.

I'd like to add a BBFL winter edition fantasy football league.
The passing of the trading deadline in the BBFL saw a plethora of deals in Alomar, nothing going on in Barfield and an insurance deal by the leading Trembling Wilburys in the Carter division.
I put a mini-jinx on the Senators last week as they fell 7-4 to the Hammers and allowed the Bashers to close the gap at the top of the Alomar division to 8 games. In Barfield the Lubumbashi Posse beat the Eastern Shore Birds, 7-5, and opened up the division race again, with just 2.5 games separating three teams this one should go down to the wire. In the Carter division the Trembling Wilburys are continuing to slowly but surely distance themselves from the field, only the Gremlins have a chance to catch them now.
With five weeks left the BBFL is coming down to the wire. Although the Austin Senators seem to be cruising to the Alomar title, things are not so clear cut in the other divisions. In Barfield, the eastern Shore Birds are being chased by Schroendinger's Bat and Baseball North, while the Carter leading Trembling WIlburys are still trying to shake off the Garth Iorg Gremlins.

With the BBFL coming up on the 2/3 of the regular season pole competition remains tight at the top, except in the Alomar division where the Senators have switched on the turbo charger and opened a quick 11 game lead on the pack and are sporting a nifty BBFL leading 65.5 winning percentage. The Eastern Shore Birds continue to lead the Barfield division but there are four other teams just a good week or two away from the top spot. In the Carter division the Trembling Wilburys have taken over top spot, but the Garth Iorg Gremlins and the Yastrzemskis are making their moves right behind them.

Schroedinger's Bat re-take the lead from the Eastern Shore Birds in the Barfield division, The Trembling Wilburys inch another step closer to the London Tigers in Carter with the Megalomaniacs charging hard behind them and perennial contenders the Austin Senators move into second behind the Magic 9 in Alomar.

No changes in the division leads this week as the front runners all hang tough. In Alomar the Bashers had a chance to re-take the top spot as they only had to face my pitiful injured gang of no-hopers, but were only to pick up a game on the Magic 9 who edged Slippery Pete. Meanwhile in the Carter division the London Tigers are looking over their shoulders at the hard charging Trembling Wilburys.

The London Tigers are still riding high in the Carter division, holding off spirited challenges from the Clownfish and New Jersey Stratuses, but there's a change at the top in the other two divisions. The Eastern Shore Birds take over at the top in the Barfield division, and the Magic 9 ride a 9-2-1 week to a three game lead in Alomar.

It's still tough at the top. Billie's Bashers, Schroedinger's Cat and the London Tigers lead their respective divisions but the biggest lead any of them have is just 2.5 games as the contenders mass below.
