I have to admit I have a soft spot for this player who is the focus of our December Daily Double POTD.

THAT is why he is the MVP.  Sure, you can argue strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis for a system of MVP selection and that supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.  However, that's how MLB rolls these days.
