It's the mid season break for the minor leagues too, and I think it comes at a good time. The Jays affiliates are short of pitching, there have been a lot of bullpen games this week. They need to get some of their arms back. And injuries have taken a toll on the hitting side too. Orelvis hasn't been seen in a few days and guys like Josh Kasevich and Peyton Williams are on the IL. In addition to the short term injured, will we see Ricky T and Brandon B soon?
The first half has not been kind to several prospects. With a four day break, can they reset their minds, their approaches to deliver a strong second half? Buffalo were the only winners on Sunday.
Friday on the farm had lots of wins and good performances, Saturday was the opposite. As usual Vancouver won, the only affiliate to do so. Vancouver were tied going to the ninth and won. New Hampshire were up by six in the eighth and lost.
Dunedin's Pat Gallagher threw a 6.1 inning no hitter before he was pulled due to his pitch count. The D Jays lost the no hitter, and the game, in the eighth. Jimmy Robbins for New Hampshire had a no hitter going through 6.1 innings. He lost his no hitter then but the Fisher Cats won the game. Buffalo put up a football score to win. The Vancouver juggernaut kept rolling.
Leo Jimenez homered for the second night in a row, a positive sign. It was one of few positive signs on Thursday. In fact it was an almost typical night, Vancouver won easily while the other three teams lost.
Vancouver and Dunedin were your Tuesday winners.
Alek Manoah stepped up to AA and settled down to finish strong. Dunedin had the only win, while Buffalo were rained out.

All the four top farm teams won with many excellent performances. A two home run game, a five hit game, other good hitting games and strong starting pitching. The four starting pitchers allowed one earned run between them. Read on for the details.
Three games went to extra innings. Luis De Los Santos hit a pinch hit grand slam home run to give Buffalo the win. Cade Doughty singled in a run to get a win for Vancouver. New Hampshire lost game two in nine innings having previously lost game one. It was the second night in a row that a Jays team lost both ends of a doubleheader. Dunedin also lost.
Gabriel Martinez had five RBI to help Vancouver to a big win. Angel Del Rosario did a similar job for Dunedin, driving in three. New Hampshire lost a tight one despite another good start by Chad Dallas. Buffalo lost both ends of a doubleheader. Hagen Danner learned all about AAA hitters when he was taken deep three times.

Dunedin won with a walk off home run by Jeffrey Wehler. New Hampshire won with a come back sealed by Leo Jimenez. Seven Bisons combined to shutout Scranton. Vancouver lost despite Alan Roden going 4-4.
Adam Kloffenstein was throwing a no hitter through 5.1 innings when a line drive hit his hand and went for a hit, ending the no hit bid and Kloffenstein's night. There is no word on the extent of the injury. New Hampshire lost, as did Buffalo and Dunedin. Vancouver have been the brightest star of the season and that continued with another win. Tucker Toman homered, again, while Addison Barger had a tough night.
Buffalo were the only winners in what was a quiet night on the farm.

The half way point of the minor league season is upon us. Only Vancouver made the playoffs in the first half. As it is the half way point I decided to take a look at how the Batters Box top 30 are doing this season.
On the field Buffalo won in extras. New Hampshire lost in 14 innings. Vancouver scored lots while Dunedin were shut out.
New Hampshire and Vancouver were triumphant on Tuesday along with the Complex squads. Buffalo and Dunedin were not.
