First Peter Gammons, then John Heyman are reporting that the Jays are signing Russell Martin for Brian McCann money. Whatever the number that is a big pile of cash. The number now being reported is five years for $82M.

The Jays also announced Brook Jacoby as their new hitting coach.

All of the awards are out now.  From MVP (at last) Mike Trout to the managers of the year.  How did the Jays do? Not so good, but no shock although some surprises.

Via MLB Trade Rumors: The Blue Jays announced that they have acquired second base prospect Devon Travis from the Tigers in exchange for center fielder Anthony Gose.

One that won't spill, cost too much or come in a pill! The General Managers meetings are on in Phoenix and will run until Thursday so we'll keep an eye out for what might develop from a Blue Jays perspective.

A look back on the career of Adam Lind.


Adam Lind belts a walk-off homer and is getting ready to be mobbed by his teammates after a 10th inning blast off Seattle's Shawn Kelley September 26, 2009. It was Lind's second homer of the game to help the Jays beat the M's 5-4.

The man who has played more games as a Blue Jay without playing for anyone else will be losing that particular distinction.  Adam Lind is a Milwaukee Brewer.

The Blue Jays are looking for a new hitting coach, as Kevin Seitzer has been reportedly hired by the Atlanta Braves in the same position. The Blue Jays are also reassigning Bob Stanley to another role in the organization, resulting in two vacancies on the coaching staff.

There is turnover from 2013. Marcus Stroman, Kevin Pillar and Ryan Goins have all graduated. Aaron Sanchez still qualifies as he was called up in mid-July, giving him less than 45 days service before September. Tom Robson, Clinton Hollon and Adonys Cardona were injured and didn't pitch enough to make it on this year's list. Kenny Wilson and Deck McGuire were traded. They make room for a new crop of exciting prospects who shot onto the scene in 2014, starting with a holdover at number 30.

The Vancouver Canadians have unveiled its expansion plans for Nat Bailey Stadium in 2015.


An artist rendering of the Nat Bailey Expansion Project was unveiled at the stadium during the Vancouver Canadians World Series Party for Nat Pack and season ticket holders.

The world Series started yesterday and the game did not live up to the standards of the previous rounds. In recent years the World Series has been less enthralling than the previous rounds, two of the last three series have been sweeps. The Giants get to pitch Madison Bumgarner twice against the Royals and that could give them an edge. The Royals do have a lot of left handed hitters and that works in favour of Bumngarner and the Giants.

The Royals face a must win game tonight with Yordano Ventura facing Jake Peavy.
