The affiliates were shutout twice and wound up with just one win Monday. The Lansing Lugnuts had the night off.

Three games for the Jays in Boston and all three are scheduled for 6pm starts. It's an experiment by the Sawx to see if more fans stick around downtown to go to the games. Given that the Sox almost always sell out they must have been worried about early season attendance after last years poor performance. Speaking of poor performance the Jays try and right the ship after three losses in Tampa.

The Blue Jays decided to end their decade-long association with lefthander Ricky Romero, releasing their 2005 first round pick on Saturday after he was unable to make it back from multiple knee injuries and severe control problems.

A split day on the farm. Buffalo have been red hot but Phillippe Aumont shut them down. Chris Colabello was the exception with three more hits. New Hampshire went from a twenty hit day to a four hit day, they too lost. Dunedin came from behind to win. Roemen Fields, Davis Harris and Christian Lopes led the hitters. Lansing also won late, Danny Jansen drove in DJ Davis for the winning run.

KC Hobson was 5-5 and Matt Boyd gave up some runs but the Fisher Cats won. Chris Colabello was the star for the Bisons who are red hot so far this season. Dunedin won in twelve innings, Matt Dean had two home runs and Jorge Saez had four hits. Lansing lost a rain shortened game.

It was a hitters night on the farm. Each team had double digit hits and no starter went more than five innings. Several hitters had three hits, Dwight Smith, Matt Hague, Derrick Loveless and Jake Fox.

Usually trips to Tampa Bay don't go well for this team...

Greetings from India. I’ll try to resist comparisons to cricket in this MLU. The Baby Jays went 3-1 on the night. Danny Jansen continued to control the strike zone and Chris Colabello continues to mash in AAA. The Fisher Cats came from behind to win and Dwight Smith Jr. ran his hit streak to eleven games.

Allow myself to introduce, er, myself. My name is Al (better known here as acepinball), and today I’m making my debut on the Batter’s Box roster. It’s a pleasure, as I’ve been a reader here for over 10 years, and it’s good to contribute to what I view as the premiere site for Blue Jays prospect discussion. Two Canadian lefties had 11-1/3 shutout innings between them but only one found the win column as the other lost a no-hit bid and the game in the span of three batters. The other highlight involved a former first-round pick having an electrifying game at the plate and on the basepaths. In total, the affiliates picked up a split of their six games on Tuesday that included wins in the back-end of two doubleheaders.

The Bluebirds and the Blackbirds face each other in Toronto for the first time in 2015. The Jays took two out of three in Baltimore during the first weekend of the season to return home with a 4-2 record. However, a 2-5 homestand has put a damper on that promising start to the season. Toronto had the day off Monday but Baltimore lost the annual Boston Marathon morning game to come away with a split of their four-game series. The Jays are 6-7 and the O's are 7-6.

The affiliates went 2-0 Monday with solid starting pitching and 21 runs worth of offence. Buffalo's game in Pawtucket was rained out and the ground was too wet in Daytona for Dunedin to play ball. The Bisons and D-Jays will play two today.

Bauxites, I'm just going to put something out there: I have a lot of jerseys. Some of them are things you'd expect, like my 1977 Jays road jersey, or my 1974 Braves jersey with the number 44 on the back. Some are glorious, like my 2005 Shea Hillenbrand All-Star jersey. Some of them are ironic, like my Houston Astros Technicolor Rainbow jersey, and some are just inexplicable, like my Tampa Bay Rays fauxback Wil Myers jersey. Why do I own that?

Guys, I own so many jerseys that when I had the opportunity to buy a stitch perfect reproduction of a 1968 Star Trek season three sciences tunic, I told myself that it was just another uniform and made total sense for me to buy. It's true, I am an equal opportunity nerd.

While I owned a late 1980s dark blue alternate Jays jersey, it was a little small for me and I traded it for a Rollie Fingers A's jersey. But I always loved that dark blue, and I was thrilled when the Jays overhauled their look and brought it back. It therefore should not surprise you to find out I have just acquired a one. Well, another one. It's actually my third version of this jersey. So, like any sensible person with more than one similar object and an Internet connection, I am going to tell you which of these jerseys is the best one.

Buffalo scored four runs with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to score an improbable win. Lansing got shutout pitching from Justin Shafer and Sean Reid-Foley, plus twelve hits and won 4-0. Dunedin lost in extra innings and New Hampshire were well beaten.
