A 3-0 Monday night on the farm featured a ton of offence, especially from the man who was selected by the Blue Jays with their first round pick in 2012. It was the kind of performance that will make the Jays brass feel so nice. Meantime, one game was suspended due to fog while New Hampshire had the night off.
The Toronto Blue Jays used the 29th pick of the 2015 MLB draft to select someone they already picked three years ago. The 56th pick was another right-handed pitcher but from the high school ranks.
The Blue Jays face the Miami Marlins for the first time since the
mega-trade of 2012.
The 2015 Major League Baseball Draft begins tonight at 7:00 pm ET on
MLB.com and
MLB Network with a preview show at 6:00 pm. The Arizona Diamondbacks have the first pick. Houston has picks two and five. The Blue Jays have the 29th overall pick. You can follow the draft
right here. The first 75 picks are scheduled to be made tonight. The draft will conclude Wednesday.
Three losses on the farm on Sunday with Dunedin having a day off. Both Buffalo and New Hampshire outhit their opponents and lost. New Hampshire's manager and pitching coach were both ejected for arguing a three run home run that they claimed was foul. Lansing were tied in the ninth but lost by five. Richard Urena drove in three runs.

Somebody had to start it.
The affiliates were 4-1 on the strength of several good pitching performances.

Matt Boyd almost pitched a complete game shutout, he left in the ninth with a three hitter. New Hampshire won 1-0, a triple from Shane Opitz was the big hit. Daniel Norris pitched in and out of trouble while conceding three runs. Clayton Richard shut down the Bisons. Justin Shafer blew a three run lead and Dunedin lost in the ninth. Shane Dawson had a bad start for Lansing.

In a role reversal of Monday, the affiliates went 1-3 Tuesday with the only win coming in the Dominican Republic. Lansing had nothing to do with this.
The affiliates won three out of four on Monday with all three wins happening in the U.S. New Hampshire had the night off.
Now remember the story, we're newly weds hitching a ride to Earth Capital...
In perhaps a foreshadowing of their major league futures, Jeff Hoffman and Alberto Tirado combined on a three hit shutout against the Yankees. Dunedin had 19 hits with lots of hitters having big days. Speaking of big days Ryan McBroom had a five hit day for Lansing but the Lugnuts lost in extra innings. Richard Urena stayed hot with three hits. New Hampshire took advantage of bad play by New Britain to win. Joel Pineiro pitched well. Buffalo were rained out.

Some strong pitching performances overshadowed a lacklustre night for the affiliates hitters. A few players who have been in the MLB had nights to show that they may be back before long. There were several close games, though only one that seemed particularly exciting. Here is your minor league update.
The Toronto Blue Jays visit
Paul Molitor and the Minnesota Twins to wrap up the month of May. The 1993 World Series MVP has skippered the Twins to a first-place tie with the Kansas City Royals in the AL Central with identical 28-18 records, 1-1/2 games ahead of Detroit. The Twins are coming off a sweep of the Boston Red Sox at Target Field and have won five in a row after taking the last two games of their series against the Chicago White Sox in the Windy City.
The affiliates were 2-1. Shane Dawson went eight in Lansing, Matt Boyd went seven in New Hampshire, and Jairo Labourt went five in Dunedin. Anthony Alford scored two runs and walked. K.C. Hobson provided the heroics (in part) in New Hampshire.
