Today we feature some of the catchers in the lower levels of the organization.
Gustavo Pierre is one of the newest Blue Jays. Pierre signed with the Jays a couple of years ago for around $700,000. He was born in December 1991 so he is still just 18 years old and if he was living in the US or Canada he would graduate high school in a couple of months.

Last week in the "notes from minor league camp" we discussed the body size of Brett Wallace. Wallace was a third baseman prior to the Jays acquiring him but the Jays decided to immediately switch him to first base. Most scouts had thought this was an inevitable move due to Wallace's size. Today we review the photo evidence.

The Jays new acquisition is hoping it's a good thing he was claimed off waivers from the Red Sox yesterday. He's the subject of today's POTD!
......to reiterate once again that Canada rocks!
This North Vancouver native has defied all the odds to make it to the bigs and hopes to strike major league gold again in 2010.
