Derrick Loveless was promoted to New Hampshire on Monday. He pinch hit in yesterdays game and started his first double A game on Wednesday. In the seventh inning Loveless hit a two run home run to win the game for the Fisher Cats. That was the only win for the affiliates. Buffalo lost on a late unearned run. Dunedin were blown out early but made the score respectable in the end. In those games Dalton Pompey and Richard Urena had a couple of hits each. Lansing were fully blown out.

It was a Two-For-Tuesday special. Two wins in regulation and two overtime losses gave the affiliates a 2-2 record Tuesday night.
All four affiliates scored first with three of them doing so in their first at-bat. Those three all found the win column Monday night.
The Blue Jays head out to the West Coast for an interleague series in San Francisco.
The San Francisco Giants are 9-7 against the Blue Jays, including a 6-2 record at
AT&T Park.
Roberto Hernandez hoped to win a job with the Jays in spring training. That didn't happen so he left to find a major league job elsewhere. That job did not materialize so he came back to the Jays to pitch in Buffalo. He advertised his availability on Sunday with an excellent performance. He was helped by a two run tie-breaking double by Dalton Pompey. That was the only win for the affiliates. New Hampshire had only one hit. Dunedin kept it close until the seventh when a grand slam like triple put them in a deep hole. Lansing took mothers day off.

The Dodgers are in town for a 3 game set. Jays have bad luck getting the 2 best starters the Dodgers have going this weekend in Kershaw & Maeda (both over 200 for ERA+) while missing the 2 weakest Wood & Kazmir both with ERA+'s under 80.
Your affiliates played .500 baseball last night. Jon Harris got his first professional win in Lansing pitching a five-inning shutout. Lansing also posted the oddity of the evening with the win on just one hit. Drew Hutchison was up to 100 pitches by inning five in Buffalo.

Three losses on Wednesday on the farm. Buffalo did have a lead but the bullpen gave it away. Andy Burns and Jon Berti homered. New Hampshire went down early and made it close with Shane Opitz delivering the big hit but close was not good enough. Lansing lost by a lot. Dunedin were rained out.

Two morning game losses set the tone for a 1-3 night on the farm but the win was one of the walk-off variety.
Two of the four affiliates got in the win column Monday night.
The Texas Rangers return to the Dome for the first time since that memorable Game 5 of the American League Divisional Series.

Only two games were played on Sunday. Buffalo were rained out and Dunedin had a scheduled day off. New Hampshire won behind stellar pitching from Luis Santos. Lansing also won with Francisco Rios continuing to pitch well. The winning hit for Lansing was a two run triple by Jake Anderson.

The Jays have now guaranteed that they will come out of April with a losing record.
This is not unusual, of course.
It's been a long time since I did one of these, but the incomparable
baseball-reference.com has
eliminated much of the heavy lifting that used to be required. (It used
to take hours just to discover who'd worn each number for a
given team.) I've skipped the San Diego Padres (wouldn't you?) - just thinking about the Padres sapped my enthusiasm, my energy, my very will to live - and proceeded straight to The Saga of the Giants! Some Windy Baseball Lore, for a day with no baseball.
