The Blue Jays finish off their first half of the season with a four-game series against Detroit.

Three of the hottest teams in the system stayed hot. Dunedin won again with good all round performances including Richard Urena and Jonathan Davis. The GCL Jays took flight in the ninth inning starting with a big triple by Bo Bichette. Wilfri Aleton pitched well again. Bluefield won to take first place in their division. Vlad Jr had a couple more hits. New Hampshire also won with Taylor Cole leading the way. Lansing lost in the ninth inning while Buffalo and Vancouver were hammered.

The C's looked to clinch a series win over Spokane after a convincing Canada Day victory.


Andy Ravel got the spot start for Vancouver.

The affiliates won seven of eight games Tuesday night. If not for some baserunning buffoonery, it could have been a perfect night.

The C's were hoping to sweep away Spokane but those hopes were dealt an early blow.


Griffin Glaude was pressed into duty in the first inning after Justin Maese left with a forearm injury. He allowed an inherited runner to score in the first and gave up two more in the next two innings, including this Darius Day home run.

Seven of the eight affiliates found the win column on Monday. The only setbacks were a shutout loss and a doubleheader split.

The team that crushed the hopes and dreams of the 2015 Blue Jays are back in town for a three-game series.

Sean Reid-Foley had nine strikeouts with only one hit allowed as Dunedin won 1-0. Max Pentecost homered twice but Ryan Borucki and Starlyn Suriel lost the lead in the eighth inning. Bluefield were the only other winners on Sunday. The bullpen blew a lead in the ninth but Juandy Mendoza drove in two runs in the eleventh. Rowdy Tellez's hot streak ended. Shane Dawson pitched Ok but used too many pitches in five innings. Justin Maese had to leave Vancouver's game when he was hit by a line drive.

The Vancouver Canadians snapped a three-game losing streak with a convincing Canada Day victory over Spokane.


Burlington, Ontario native Mattingly Romanin was given the start at second base on Canada Day.

The affiliates were 3-5 on the night. Casey Lawrence was very good and Anthony Alford is returning to his all-action play.

The Blue Jays open up their Canada Day weekend series against the AL Central Division leaders.

Buffalo and Lansing had good come from behind wins. Buffalo came from behind twice in the last two innings. Melky Mesa had the game winning hit but Darrell Ceciliani had the game tying home run. Conor Panas also hit a game tying home run before Lansing went ahead.

New Hampshire, Dunedin and Bluefield had big wins. Dwight Smith hit home runs in back to back innings, including a grand slam. In Dunedin's game Emilio Guerrero had a two run sac fly, Anthony Alford scored from second.

Vancouver and the GCL Jays lost badly. But many prospects had good days, read the whole thing!

Another splitsville day on the farm as the affiliates went 4-4.

All eight affiliates drew first blood in their games but the best they could do was split them down the middle. A couple of bullpen meltdowns in the lower levels did not help.
