There were four close games at the top of the system last night. Ricky Romero had the Bisons in the lead but he let it slip away. Kevin Pillar got the lead back with his first AAA home run but the bullpen gave up the lead and lost it. Similarly in New Hampshire a lead in the seventh turned into a two run loss courtesy of the bullpen. Dunedin had a four run lead until an error made it a one run lead but they held on for the win. Lansing out hit Great Lakes 11-4 but again the bullpen let four runs score without a hit and the Lugnuts lost by a run.

Vancouver took an early lead and won. Bluefield had their hitting shoes on and had such a big lead that the bullpen didn't blow it. The GCL Jays were the opposite down early and by a lot.

There were a couple of wild wins on the farm Friday. Bluefield led 9-1 after two innings but the lead disappeared by the middle of the eighth. The Jays were able to push across a run in the bottom of the eighth to win. The GCL Jays trailed 3-0 but came back to lead 5-4 in the ninth. The save was duly blown but the Jays rallied to win in the tenth. Buffalo scored five runs in the ninth to make a one run lead a six run win. Dunedin won a close game, New Hampshire and Vancouver were well beaten and Lansing were all wet.

It was an eventful night on the farm. Kevin Pillar and Andy Burns made their debuts with multi-hits games. Aaron Sanchez returned from the DL and didn't miss a beat. Burns and DJ Davis were each a home run short of the cycle.

Pillar was backed up with good pitching to lead Buffalo to the win. Burns debut was less successful as New Hampshire lost a winnable game. Dunedin had good pitching behind Sanchez and won. Lansing pitchers were blown out and the hitters went hitless. Bluefield's pitchers, Zak Wasilewski and Alberto Tirado were roughed up a bit in their first game. DJ Davis had three hits but it wasn't enough. Vancouver took an early lead and held on for a one run win.

Almost a full slate of games today as all the affiliates but the Gulf Coast League squad were in action. Short season, not quite Northwest League, but definitely not GCL, Bluefield played their first game of the season topping the visiting Greeneville squad. Gus Pierre—all two walks of him—has broken the High-A voodoo and played tonight for Dunedin. He didn’t help much as Dunedin was shutout by Daytona. A.J. Jimenez continues to treat Double-A like Brennan treats Dale in Step Brothers before they realize they’re BFF (Note: this means that Jimenez continues to swing the bat well). New Hampshire lost. Anthony Gose sat today, not surprising considering the shenanigans of last night and the dressing down by Marty Brown. Buffalo lost a tight one this afternoon and have struggled mightily recently. Way down south Ronniel Demorizi, a bonus baby from a few years back went deep twice. He’s got some nice numbers down there and should graduate from the island at the end of the year. The DSL Jays won. Who am I forgetting? Oh, Vancouver won.
