Buffalo and New Hampshire lost one-run games. Vancouver and Dunedin were the winners on a Splitsville Tuesday.
Buffalo's game was rain shortened but they won 2-0. New Hampshire had just two hits but it was enough for a 2-1 win. Dunedin lost but Victor Arias again was the bright spot. Vancouver continue to be rained out, it must be monsoon season in BC.
Buffalo were the only winners on Saturday. Four pitchers shutout Iowa with Andrew Bash, the starter, going five innings. New Hampshire were down 9-0 before they came to bat and Dunedin found hitting to be hard. Vancouver continued to be rained out.
Three games, three losses. Two of the losses were in the tenth inning where errors helped the affiliates lose. Buffalo resorted to a position player pitching. Fernando Perez and Adam Macko pitched well.

Buffalo won both ends of a doubleheader. New Hampshire and Dunedin lost, Vancouver were rained out. The affiliates had a strong start to the season and the first week or so produced excellent results. However the three lower teams have fallen off and have lost their winning records. Buffalo, despite losing some pitching to the big club and the IL, and despite Alek Manoah not helping, do have a winning record and are hanging in well. Spencer Horwitz and Orelvis are leading the way and Orelvis did hit his seventh home run. However its not all smooth sailing for him as discussed below.

Addison Barger made his MLB debut Wednesday against the Kansas City Royals, playing left field and batting eighth for Toronto.
On to the scores and game breakdowns below.
Iowa 8 Buffalo 2
Binghamtom 7 New Hampshire 6
Spokane 5 Vancouver 4
Jupiter 3 Dunedin 0
Buffalo's game against Iowa was rained out. The Herd and Cubs will play two on Thursday.
TINSTAPP. (There is no such thing as a pitching prospect)
The Jays have a number of pitching prospects but there is a cloud over pitching development this week. Ricky Tiedemann hit the IL this week. Brandon Barriera went on it less than two week ago. One of the biggest risers in the prospect lists this season has been Landen Maroudis. He left his start yesterday with an undisclosed injury. Kendry Rojas pitched April 10th and hasn't been seen since. Last years up and comer Nolan Perry is on the IL. Dahian Santos is on the 60 day IL. We don't know how serious are many of these injuries, if the Jays are lucky they will be short term absences, or it could be a disaster.
On the field Buffalo bashed, but New Hampshire, Vancouver and Dunedin didn't.
Addison Barger hit a two run home run in the top of the ninth to get the win for Buffalo. Vancouver split a doubleheader. Both New Hampshire and Dunedin lost. And 5.2 innings was a step too far for a couple of starters.

Four games, four losses. The Buffalo bullpen gave up six runs in the seventh to take the loss. The New Hampshire bullpen gave up a run in the ninth to take the loss. The Vancouver bullpen gave up four runs in the eighth to take the loss. The Dunedin bullpen gave up three runs in the ninth to take the loss. Stop me if you see a pattern.

Buffalo and Columbus played a game with several lead changes. The Bisons trailed by one run heading to the ninth. Home runs by Steward Berroa to tie and Orelvis Martinez for the lead gave Buffalo the win. New Hampshire lost, wasting a strong start by Michael Dominguez. Vancouver had a nice win, while Dunedin won a close game.
Buffalo 12 Columbus 9
Portland 5 New Hampshire 2
Eugene 5 Vancouver 0
Clearwater 10 Dunedin 1
*** 3 Stars!!! ***
3. Damiano Palmegiani, Buffalo
2. Spencer Horowitz, Buffalo
1. Orelvis Martinez, Buffalo
New Hampshire and Dunedin put up double digits and won in a near-organizational sweep. Buffalo finished second-best on the scoreboard. Vancouver does not begin their series at Eugene until Wednesday.
The affiliates bounced back after lots of losing on Saturday, in fact it was a Sunday sweep. Buffalo scored 17, New Hampshire 13, Dunedin 11 and Vancouver 8. It's just a few weeks but its nice to see some offense after a couple of seasons without much on that side of the ball. Some guys who have been hot stayed hot, Alan Roden went deep twice, Ryan McCarty drove in five and Spencer Horwitz and Will Robertson reached base five times.

Buffalo and New Hampshire had started the season very well but on Saturday they combined to lose four games. Some starting pitchers had a rough go of it but not Adam Macko. Dunedin lost in extra innings. Vancouver were the only winners.
