NOTES
Jon Clase was originally in the Bisons lineup but was pulled before the game started. His name still appears on the scorecard which suggests he tweaked something pre-game. Or it could have been a last minute decision to call him up for the DH in the Bronx.
Trenton Wallace could only complete four innings, and needed 77 pitches to do so. He did strikeout seven but he needs to be more economical. Joey Loperfido was 3-4, including a double. Orelvis Martinez had two singles.
For New Hampshire Ryan Watson was dominant, four hits, no walks and six K's. In four games this year Watson has a 1.64 ERA and a 0.73 WHIP. He has 18 K's and two walks in 22 innings. Watson was signed as a free agent last year. He turned 26 on Saturday and played for Georgia State in 2023 as a 23/24 year old. Obviously he is old for the level but age doesn't matter for pitchers.
Ryan Jennings also pitched two innings for NH and didn't give up a run, but he did have four baserunners in the two innings.
NH won with just four hits, Yohendrick Pinango had the big hit, an RBI double to the right field corner.
It was good news wherever you looked for Vancouver. First Fernando Perez, who hadn't settled in high A, threw four good innings. He allowed one run on four hits, that's progress.
The C's hit four home runs. Sean Keys, Cutter Coffey, Arjun Nimmala and Carter Cunningham all went deep. Keys and Nimmala hit three run shots with Coffey and Cunningham two runs each. The four home runs accounted for all ten Vancouver runs.
Colby Holcombe is another pitcher who is pitching well. On Saturday it was five shutout innings with four hits and six K's.
Sam Shaw hit his second home run of the season, and added a single and a walk. Edward Duran went 2-4 and drove in three runs. He also threw out a base stealer.
