Here is a summary of the prospect lists from an assortment of sites. I like to do this each year to get an overall view on the Jays top prospects.

I used a weighting scale of 15 points for being the Jays top prospect down to 1 point for being listed as 'also mentioned' or 51st or lower. Top 10 go 15 down to 6 points for 10th overall, then 5 for 11-19, 4 for 21-29, etc.

Sites used are MLB Pipeline, Baseball America, Baseball Prospectus, FanGraphs, TSN, Prospects 1500, Fantrax HQ, Keith Law, ESPN, Batters Box, BlueJaysNation, BlueBirdBanter, and Prospects Live. There are probably more out there, but those were ones I found and put into the system. The first 4 are generally best regarded of the batch, but often fan blog sites can be fun to add in. Someday I might adjust weighting to factor that in too.

72 different players were named on these lists. Just 9 were on all of them. ESPN was just a 10 player list, everyone else was 20+ with FanGraphs the biggest at 72 players (40 ranked, 32 'also named'). TSN and Prospects 1500 had 50 ranked each. Since some sites are paywalled I don't provide the full lists here out of courtesy, but they are factored into overall rankings. BA top 10's are eventually available for free at The Baseball Cube's site. Other members of the Box here sent me lists for ones I don't have a subscription for.

This years was the most mixed we've seen in years (if ever) with 5 different players getting a 1st overall vote in Arjun Nimmala, Trey Yesavage, Ricky Tiedemann, Orelvis Martinez, Jake Bloss. Past years have seen nearly perfect group think in who was the best Jays prospect. First place votes in the 20's went to: Ricky Tiedemann last year and in '23, Gabriel Moreno in '22, Nate Pearson and Austin Martin in '21, Nate Pearson in '20.

On to the list!

Hopefully I avoided duplicates there. Sometimes sites will list a name as 'Jonathan' while others use 'John' for example and I try to clean those up to the most common usage but I am not perfect. Lots of names, most of which will never get a cup of coffee let alone have a ML career. Still, lots of fun to speculate and dream.

Thanks for putting this together John.

Nobody loves Adrian Pinto...
He's got an 861 OPS for his minor league career and, thus far, continues to hit in Vancouver. When healthy, he's good.

I like Pinto!

I love any and all "short" prospects. Tim Collins, baby!

Surprising Pinto isn't on any lists - at 21 over 3 leagues he hit 330/378/573 (A+ his highest with a 927 OPS over 76 PA). He is a 2B who can play CF and SS. At 22 he is repeating A+ but playing more (42 PA so far with a solid 250/357/472 line). Hopefully he gets called up to AA at some point this year.

Checked the old records and he was on a few lists in '23 (peak of #17 with Fantrax HQ but often hovering around #30 with FanGraphs, TSN, Prospects 1500, Batters Box, BlueJaysNation, and BlueBirdBanter. Strange none liked him after that solid '24 but it was just 26 games. If he can be healthy all year maybe he'll make a better impression.

Bohrofen was struggling earlier but he's on fire now. 2 HR's tonight and 4 HR's in last 4 days. NH is mostly filled with meh prospect hitters (you can squint and see something if they develop along best path even if unlikely) but Bohrofen is maybe most interesting one for me.

Bohrofen is definitely interesting but beware of the short porch in RF in NH. He hit a ton of balls that died in medium deep RF in Vancouver that would probably be HRs in NH and not many other places.

One of the underrated stories this season (carried over from last season) is Bowden Francis. He has turned himself into a very solid fourth starter for Toronto, even with the high HR rate. FB, splitter, occasional CB, pretty good control and command. Good demeanour on the mound. It’s working for him.
