Lazaro Estrada had a slightly better start. In the first inning three singles and a walk led to two runs. He ended up pitching 3.1 innings, it could have been more but for an error just before he left the game. It is his longest start of the season, 64 pitches.
Michael Stefanic had three hits, the rest of the Bisons had zero. Davis Schneider was 0-3 with a walk and two strikeouts.
Devereaux Harrison had a rough start for New Hampshire. The second hitter homered. In the second inning Harrisburg scored three of him. In total he walked three and gave up seven hits in 3.2 innings.
Peyton Williams had a single and a double and now is the leading hitter on the team. You would expect your first baseman to be one of the leading hitters. His average is .273 and his OPS is .839. He is striking out 33% of the time.
Vancouver scored 13 runs with ten hits, eleven walks and five Eugene errors. Jay Harry, who came to the Jays from the Twins in the Trevor Richards deal, has been leading the offense. He is hitting .375 with an OPS at 1.147. Victor Arias is heating up, he is 7 for 13 in his last three games.
Jackson Wentworth battled his command and needed 82 pitches to complete 4.1 innings. He did strike out eight.
In Dunedin Cade Doughty played his second rehab game, he walked three times.
Javen Coleman is human. Coming off his pitcher of the week award for last week, Coleman gave up three runs. A couple of runs and a couple of doubles were his downfall. Gilberto Batista pitched the last four innings and kept his ERA at zero. The 20 year old who came over in the Danny Jansen trade had ten K's and just one walk in eleven innings.
I wanted to highlight a couple of little known hitters. I noted that Alexis Hernandez was batting third in the order. Hernandez had a couple of hits on Wednesday and went 1-2 before being pinch hit for on Thursday. He is now 4-10 in his last three games. For the season he has seven walks and nine K's in 28 at-bats. Hernandez is 22 and was a minor league rule 5 pick from the Red Sox in December 2023. He is repeating Dunedin having hit .219 in Dunedin last season. It could just be a little hot streak but I will be watching.
The other hitter is Yeuni Munoz, a 21 year old. Munoz had three hits Wednesday and two more on Thursday and homered in both games. Munoz has had injury problems and has played just 70 games in the last three seasons. He leads the team with three home runs and in OPS. On the negative side he has 13 K's in 31 at-bats.
