Better call your local butcher as the Iowa Meat Truck, Peyton Williams had himself a day in New Hampshire. Today’s game also saw all the Blue Jays affiliates in action.

Vancouver Canadians

The Canadians evened their six game series with the Spokane Chiefs, winning 8-4 on Wednesday night.

Spokane had a 3-0 lead after the bottom of the third as Braylen Wimmer’s single and error by the C’s Jacob Wetzel scored two runs. Aidan Longwell then RBI singled home Wimmer.

Vancouver would get five in the sixth and three in the seventh thanks to a two run shot by Wetzel that scored Alex Stone in the sixth.

Je’Von Ward’s single then scored Adrian Pinto to tie the game at 3-3 in the sixth. Pinto finished the night 2-4 with a double, a walk, and two runs.

Arjun Nimmala had singled and moved around the bases earlier in the inning and then scored with the bases loaded when Brennan Orf walked. That made it 4-3 Vancouver.

The Indians added a single run in bottom of the seventh but by that point it was already 8-3 C’s.

Kevin Miranda took the win to move to 1-0 on the season with a 2.25 ERA. The Canadians and Indians are back at it on Thursday with game time at 9:35 PM ET.

Buffalo Bisons

The Bisons and Durham Bulls played a double header today with Durham taking the first game 7-1. The two-game set was as a result of an April 8th cold temperatures and freezing wind chills cancellation.

A four run second inning for the Bulls was followed up by the Bulls Kenny Piper blasting a three-run homer scoring Carson Williams, and Tristan Peters in the sixth. That made it 7-1.

Buffalo could only scratch across a single run in the bottom of the fourth. Buffalo had a 1-6 record entering this contest while the Bulls were 7-3.

In the second game, the Bisons won 2-1 thanks to a Steward Berroa RBI Double that opened the scoring. Christian Bethancourt’s sac fly then scored Riley Tirotta.

The Bulls added a single run in the top of seventh with a Bob Seymour single that pushed Dru Baker across but the Bulls could not score any more. The Bisons took this one 2-1 in seven innings.

The Bisons and Bulls are back at it on Thursday with game time at 6:05 PM ET.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats

The Iowa Meat Truck, Peyton Williams, as he was known in Vancouver, keyed a 4-1 New Hampshire Fisher Cats win against the Portland Sea Dogs going 2 - 5 with a home run, three RBI’s, and run.

His two run shot in the third scored Jace Bohrofen and his RBI single in the seventh scored RJ Schreck.

CJ Van Eyk will start for the Fisher Cats tomorrow. He has a 3.86 ERA and an 0-1 record. Game time is 6:00pm ET.

Dunedin Blue Jays

The Dunedin Blue Jays scored an incredible 19 runs in Tuesday’s game and followed that up Wednesday scoring seven runs to beat the Jupiter Hammerheads, the Miami Marlins Single-A affiliate.

Edward Duran continued the scoring frenzy of Tuesday’s game with a solo shot in the top of the second to make it 1-0 but the Hammerheads had a 4-3 advantage before the seventh when Dunedin scored four.

Walks, wild pitches, and batters being hit by pitches allowed Dunedin to take the lead in the seventh.

Dunedin and Jupiter are back at it on Thursday with game time at 6:30 PM ET.

Nimmala watch
Arjun is sporting a .333 average after the 2 hits he got last night. He also struck out twice for a total of 4 so far this year in 21 AB's and of those 21 hits are a Double and a HR.
He's doing real well at the plate so far I sure hope he keeps it up and in particular keeps his strikeouts down

Would be tres cool if Nimmala was worthy of a midseason promotion at his age.

But even if he is, i'd hesitate unless the hitting line is truly overwhelming.

Nimmala’s emergence might cause the Blue Jays to let Bo walk in free agency. Nimmala is a true shortstop who could be the long-term solution for the team at the position, starting around 2027 or 2028.

Hard to tell at this point but Nimmala is in the category of talent that it's plausible he could be a 20/21yr old mlber.

Another dominant performance by Khal Stephen. So far, 6 IP, 9K, 1 BB, 1 H, 1ER.

One possibility going forward is that the Blue Jays extend Bo, use a Bo (SS) and Gimenez (2B) combination in 2025-2026 (or 2025-2027), then trade Gimenez and use a Nimmala (SS) and Bo (2B) after that.

More likely the team lets Bo walk via free agency, finds a stopgap SS for 2026, then uses Nimmala (SS) and Gimenez (2B) starting around 2027.

Is there a reason Nimmala is at DH? Seems like he’s been there for a few games now. I would think playing him at SS would be the priority but not sure if there’s a reason for it (haven’t read all the minor league threads).

Rogers was cruising through the first 5 innings, then loads the bases with 0 out in the 6th. Gets a force out at home for the 1st out (would've been a double play but Orf had to step off the bag at 1st), then a line out and a ground ball to get out of it.

Other than Van Eyk...the starters keep rolling. Van Eyk is the only starter below AAA to date to give up more than 1 ER (and he's done it both times).
