Buffalo Bisons

The Buffalo Bisons lost 5-4 to the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs Wednesday.

The Iron Pigs took a commanding 5-1 lead in the fourth thanks to home runs from Darick Hall and Carlos De La Cruz. David Dahl’s single also scored Jim Haley in that inning.

Buffalo got two runs in the eight inning when Steward Berroa’s single scored Riley Tirotta to account for one run. The Bison’s couldn’t solve the Iron Pigs relief pitching in the ninth and that gave Lehigh Valley the win.

The Bisons and Iron Pigs have no announced starters for today’s matchup. Game time is 6:05PM EDT.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats won both games of their double header against the Portland Sea Dogs on Wednesday with one game being a makeup from a July 6th cancellation.

Two runs in the third, fourth and six innings were all the Fisher Cats would need as they held Portland to a single run in the seventh inning.

The Fisher Cats capitalized on a throwing error by Sea Dogs pitcher Wikelman Gonzalez to start the third and then a Rainer Nunez RBI single to score Ryan McCarty made it 2-0.

Robert Brooks mashed a two run shot in the fourth inning and the Fisher Cats would scored two again in the sixth to lead 6-0.

In Game Two, smart hitting by New Hampshire and some poor fielding by Portland allowed two runs to score in the fifth. Garrett Spain managed to squeeze two bases out of a throwing error by Portland’s starter. He later scored on a Devonte Brown sacrifice fly.

The Fisher Cats starter for today’s game is Devereaux Harrison (4-7, 4.85 ERA) . Game time is 6:35PM ET.

Vancouver Canadians

The Vancouver Canadian lost 10-7 to the Eugene Emeralds Wednesday as starter Juaron Watts-Brown was roughed up for seven runs in two innings at Rogers Field at Nat Bailey Stadium.

Watts-Brown finished the night with four and a third innings of work giving up up eight runs on six hits to go with five walks and six strikeouts.

Vancouver did see their magic number fall to one though as the Hillsboro Hops lost to the Tri-City Dust Devils earlier in the day. The C’s will just have to wait a little longer to see if they will make the playoffs.

Today’s game sees Mississauga, ON native Connor O’Halloran on the mound for the C’s at Rogers Field at Nat Bailey Stadium. Game time is 7:05 pm.

Dunedin Blue Jays

With Wednesday’s second consecutive rainout for the Dunedin Blue Jays, they will play a double header Thursday against the Tampa Tarpons.

Thursday’s games begin with a 4:00 PM EDT start and no announced starters in either contest.

Roden is now getting close to having arguably the best hitting line of any Jays AAA guy this year with a 132wrc+ with excellent underlyings all the way through. Which is pretty amazing given his poor start.

I still slot Jimenez' 131 with good underlyings ahead of him just based on Leo being a year younger.

But I think i take both of their lines ahead of Horwitz' 159wrc+ with a high babip at age 26.
