NOTES

Jonatan Clase and Nathan Lukes both homered for Buffalo in the seventh inning. Clase also doubled and drove in three runs. Lukes also had a single and two RBI. Rafael Lantigua doubled twice. Josh Kasevich picked up two more hits and is hitting .310 in AAA.

This was a bullpen game for the Bisons with six pitchers used. Of note Eric Pardinho got four outs, two via strikeout. Hagen Danner, working his way back, also got four outs, two via strikeout. Braydon Fisher had four K's in two innings and also gave up his first AAA run.

Rafael Sanchez had a tough start for New Hampshire, seven hits allowed and three walks in five innings. He gave up three home runs and didn't record a strikeout. Anders Tolhurst also was roughed up.

Rainer Nunez had three hits but also made two errors, his eighth and ninth of the season. Robert Brooks hit his first AA home run. Nunez is hitting .407 in August. But just two of his eleven hits have been for extra bases.

Vancouver scored a run in each of the first three innings. Cutter Coffey and Jace Bohrofen singled in the first to create a run. In the second Jay Harry led off with a double and scored on a sac fly. Peyton Williams homered in the third. Jay Harry padded the lead with an RBI single in the sixth.

Grant Rogers was dealing, just two hits allowed through five shutout innings. But when he came out for the sixth Spokane scored four runs with five hits, tying the game. It was still a good start for Rogers.

The game stayed tied until the ninth. Jay Harry singled, moved to third on an errant pickoff throw and scored when Nick Goodwin singled. Bo Bonds threw three shutout and hitless innings for the win. Harry went 3-4, Goodwin 2-4.

Trent Palmer made his first start since the end of May and it didn't go well. He walked three in 1.2 innings, hit a batter and was charged with three runs, one earned.

Aaron Parker hit his third home run and singled, hitting .293 he is off to a good start to his career. Eddie Micheletti had a hit, he is hitting .333 and is the leader among the 2024 draftees. JR Freethy also had two hits. Tucker Toman went on the development list for a month. He has played three games since his return and has yet to get a hit.

Just wondering if the Jays will call up Clase this year. He was up for Seattle from April 15th to 28/29th, May 23/24 to June 1st/2/3. July 10/11 to July 22-26th area based on games played/date traded. So basically 2 weeks, 1 week, and 2 weeks = 5 weeks roughly. To gain a year of bonus service time the Jays thus would need to keep him down until mid-May next year I think.

Jace Bohrofen is righting the ship.

292/374/403 in the last month

No real urgency to call up Clase imo. He's still young and while hitting well he's not quite dominating yet. I'd wait a bit and start him in AAA again next year at an age appropriate 23.

Could have 3 pretty exciting 23yr olds starting in AAA next year - Clase, Orelvis, McAdoo - who could easily deserve a callup with a good first month or two.

Especially as a switch hitter, more time in the minors might be good for Clase.

Exit velos for Kasevich today in AAA (three hits): 74.3, 86.6, 96.3, 107.6 (highest in the game for either team)

Would love Alex Amalfi to make it just for the "Amalfi Coasts to win" headlines.

I'm wondering about the quality/quantity of lefty pitching in AAA.
