Difference in farm system now is striking. Clase huge game today,(he has more power than you'd think) Wagner looking great, new guys debuting. Difference between an empty system and one with some talent.

It's both encouraging and dissappointing that they could at least double the talent in the system with one good trade deadline of good but not great impending free agents.

Agree Ugly, the system should never be that bad. I get it they traded a bunch of top draft picks and I am fine with a competing team not having a top system, but what they have now should be the standard level. The guys they traded for were not high draft picks. They need to draft/develop their own guys like this.

Low power Josh Kasevich just hit a three run home run in his second AAA game.

Nick Mitchell began his pro career with a bang. A homer, single and walk in his first 3 PAs. He hasn't yet turned 21, so getting his feet wet in single A is just about right.

BA's midseason farm system ranking was released today. The Blue Jays are #23 on the list. BA writes that the organization's current depth has taken a significant step forward post-trade deadline.

Unfortunately the other AL teams are ranked #1 (Baltimore), #2 (Tampa), #9 (Boston) and #19 (Yankees).

Lots for the Blue Jays front office to figure out this off-season around long- and short-term strategy, front office personnel, coaches/managers/other staff at the MLB and minor-league levels, how to meaningfully improve player development, FA and trade targets, decisions around Vladdy extension and whether to trade Bo...to name a few issues.
