1. Bowden Francis, Buffalo

Buffalo Bisons

Buffalo has taken the first two games in this series with a 6-2 victory over the Syracuse Mets on Wednesday thanks to a strong Bowden Francis outing and some timely hitting.

Francis went 5.1 innings giving up three hits and throwing six strikeouts. This would also be his second straight scoreless start since the all-star break.

Francis got plenty of run support starting with three runs in the bottom of the first thanks to a Phil Clark ground rule double that scored Will Robertson and Damiano Palmegiani.

Alan Roden was then hit by a pitch that scored Luis De Los Santos from third and that allowed two other base runners to advance in that same inning.

Palmegiani went 1-2 at the plate while scoring two runs and drawing two walks.

Today’s game sees the no announced starter for the Bisons. First pitch will be at 6:35 PM ET.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats

This one was all Reading as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats were blanked 7-0 Wednesday. They surrendered five runs in the eight inning to the Fightin Phils.

New Hampshire squandered a Rainer Nunez triple in the second inning, and a chance to score runs in the fifth when Gabriel Martinez grounded into a double play and Cade Doughty was caught stealing home for the third out.

Today’s game will feature Devereaux Harrison (4-5, 4.25 ERA) on the mound for the Fisher Cats. First pitch will be at 6:35 PM ET.

Vancouver Canadians

The Vancouver have now lost four of five falling 4-2 to the Hillsboro Hops on Wednesday night.

The Canadians led 2-0 after half an inning in this one thanks to singles by Dasan Brown and Peyton Williams while Jackson Hornung doubled.

Juaron Watts-Brown turned in his best start at the level. He tossed two scoreless innings before getting into some trouble in the third. He went on to strike out eight and walk three over five complete.

The Hops chipped away at Vancouver’s 2-0 lead and tied it in the fifth and loaded the bases in the seventh. They scored on a C’s double play that yielded only one out instead of the two.

Today’s game sees Mississauga, ON native Connor O’Halloran on the mound for the C’s. Game time is 7:05pm.

Dunedin Blue Jays

It was the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels who were the victors in this one scoring three in the third and fourth innings to beat the Dunedin Blue Jays 8-1 Wednesday.

Dunedin’s only run of the ball game came when Victor Arias hit his eight home run of the year to make it 3-1 in the bottom of the third.

Today’s game sees Grant Rogers get the start for Dunedin. He is 2-4 with a 4.48 ERA on the season. First pitch will be at 6:30 PM ET.
