NOTES

The Buffalo game went eleven innings and the Bisons had just five hits over the eleven innings. Rafael Lantigua drove in two runs and went 2-3 with a walk. The Bisons hitters have gone cool over the last few weeks. Phil Clarke was hitting over .300 on July 1, now he is at .217. Gabriel Cancel has dropped his average to .302. Riley Tirotta's average is down to .257.

James Kaprelian started and just allowed one run over five innings. He only had one strikeout but he did get nine ground outs versus three fly balls. Mike Mayers came on in the eleventh and gave up five runs.

It was a pitchers duel in Harrisburg. New Hampshire had just three hits in ten innings. Josh Kasevich had two of them, a single and a double.

Trenton Wallace started and pitched four innings with six K's. Harrisburg won it in the tenth with their third hit of the game.

Rafael Sanchez had a rough start to the Vancouver game. The first hitter homered, then following an error, a double and a single made it 3-0 Spokane. Sanchez gave up add on runs in the fifth and sixth although the run in the sixth was unearned. He went 5.2 innings with five K's.

The C's clawed their way back into the game. They scored one on a balk and Jean Arnaez twice singled to shortstop with a runner on third. Trailing 6-3 in the eighth Arnaez singled again. Following a walk Jace Bohrofen tripled in two runs and he scored on a ground out. Tie game. But Chay Yeagar was scpred on twice in the top of the ninth. Arnaez had his fourth hit in the bottom of the ninth but it came to nothing.

Another strong relief outing from Rafael Ohashi of Mogi Guaçu, Brazil. The league's adjustments were obviously a challenge for him. Met and overcome!

Ohashi is a non-prospect for me. Relief pitcher in A ball with control problems and who strikes out fewer than 8 per 9 IP. Upside is what, middle reliever if everything breaks right? Meh. Nimmala hit another HR. He is striking out a lot more recently but OPS remaining pretty stable. Waiting for some of the 2024 class to sign. I assume pitchers won't pitch this year but a few hitters worth following as well.

Supplemental 4th-rder Nick Mitchell signs w/@BlueJays for $467,500 (slot 136 = $515,100). @IndianaBase OF, flashes plus-plus speed, performed well w/wood bats in summer ball.

the blip on Holcombe

9th-rder Colby Holcombe signs w/@BlueJays for $200k (slot277 = $190,100). @HailStateBB RHP, big-time arm up to 97 mph & flashes of plus slider, struggled last two years in SEC after popping on the scene at @NEMCCBASEBALL two years ago.

I honestly thought they took Mitchell that high to save closer to 150-200k.

A Mississippi sports anchor, David Edelstein, reporting that Khal Stephen has signed. $ unknown at this point. https://x.com/davidzedelstein/status/1815126941382361271
