Vancouver Canadians

The Vancouver Canadians have been on a heater of late with nine straight wins to start the second half. They lost two of three to Everett to start the month of July and now sit at 10-2.

Wednesday night’s game was a perfect showcase of baseball, set on the warm summer evening at Rogers Field at Nat Bailey Stadium. Despite the loss to the Everett Aquasox, the Canadians showed their potential to bounce back, keeping the audience hopeful and optimistic.

The Canadians got a run in the sixth, and Jace Bohrofen’s homer in the seventh made it 4-2, but that would be as close as Vancouver would come in this game.

Vancouver stumbled through Everett’s half of the ninth, allowing the Frogs to load the bases with Kai Peterson hitting two batters, an error, a bases-loaded walk and an infield RBI single to lead 6-2. The C’s couldn’t convert on their chances in the bottom of the ninth.

The Canadians are at Funko Field tonight in Everett to wrap up their three game home and home series against the Frogs. Juaron Watts-Brown will make his High A debut for the Canadians.

Buffalo Bisons

The Buffalo Bisons were 3-1 losers to the Rochester Red Wings on Wednesday, getting only a single run in their half of the seventh in the loss.

Rochester led this game 2-0 after four frames thanks to a Carter Kieboom homer on a fly ball to left field.

Today’s game has no announced Buffalo starter. First pitch will be at 6:45pm.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats lost 8-5 Wednesday night to the Portland Sea Dogs.

New Hampshire did lead this game 3-0 after two innings but would allow four runs in the bottom of the seventh as Portland’s Alex Binelas hit a grand slam to score Blaze Jordan, Eddinson Paulino, and Phillip Sikes.

Lost in the The Fisher Cats inability to score more runs the rest of the game was the ejection of pitcher Ryan Boyer and manager Cesar Martin in the bottom of the seventh.

Today’s game sees the Fisher Cats send Michael Dominguez (2-4 5.08 ERA) to the mound. First pitch will be at 6:35 PM ET.

Dunedin Blue Jays

The Dunedin Blue Jays were your lone affiliate winners 6-3 Wednesday night against the Clearwater Threshers.

Ricky Tiedemann had a tough start in this game allowing a solo home run in the first and finished with 3.2 innings on 65 pitches and six strikeouts.

Dunedin was no hit through four thanks to the Threshers Enrique Segura but did manage to get two singles off of him in the fifth.

Dunedin would finally solve Segura in the seventh when a Jean Joseph triple and a Cristian Feliz homer allow the Jays to plate their first runs of the game.

Braden Barry’s walk and a Tucker Toman line drive gave the Jays their first lead of the game in that same inning.
