This is an unusual week. Normally there is no Monday baseball and teams play from Tuesday to Sunday. But this week the teams play Monday through Saturday, with Sunday off. On the field Buffalo held on for a one run win, Dunedin had a nice win but Vancouver's win streak ended. New Hampshire also lost. Errors were a big factor on Monday, maybe it's the fact of having to play on a Monday.
Phil Clarke, Gabriel Cancel, Steward Berroa and Arjun Nimmala all were worthy of attention for their recent play.

Nick Fraze made the spot start for the Bisons. He went three innings with one home run allowed. Ryan Burr came on and gave up four runs. That happens a lot with players just back down from the big leagues. Speaking of back from the big leagues, Steward Berroa took to time to clear his head after his demotion. He is back and went 2-4 driving in three runs.
Phil Clarke was promoted from NH on June 8th and he was hitting .200 on Saturday. He went 3-4 on Sunday and added three more hits on Monday including his first AAA home run. He too drove in three runs. His .200 average is up to .308. He also doesn't strike out much, just ten times in 140 at bats this season. Gabriel Cancel hit his third home run in four games. He also doubled. He is hitting .467 with an OPS of 1.796.
Erik Swanson recorded five outs with one hit allowed. However he didn't have a strikeout. The other Eric, Pardinho, had a rough game. He couldn't get the save with two walks and a single while getting just one out.
The Fisher Cats made four errors in the game so that just one of the four runs Portland scored was earned. Devereaux Harrison started and went five innings. He struck out four while being charged with three runs, one earned.
NH had eight hits, Josh Kasevich, Alex De Jesus and Rainer Nunez had two each Nunez hit a two run home run.
Vancouver finally lost and like New Hampshire an error helped sink the ship. After Vancouver scored three runs in the first inning things looked good. But the lead off hitter in the second inning homered. Lazaro Estrada got two outs with a single mixed in. The next hitter reached through an error by Jean Arnaez. That was followed by a three run home run, with the runs all unearned, and the C's were down 4-3. Estrada did complete five innings and struck out nine. He did give up one more home run for three homers total.
Just five hits for the C's. Nick Goodwin had two including the only extra base hit, a double.
Nolan Perry had an unusual start for Dunedin. He threw four innings and just gave up one hit. But he walked six and needed 78 pitches for the four innings.
Arjun Nimmala singled and doubled in four trips. Since he returned to Dunedin he has at least one hit in all four games and has gone 5-14. He also has just two K's in those 14 AB's. Its a small sample but it's encouraging. Edward Duran also had two hits, walked and was hit by a pitch. Jean Joseph also had two hits.
The FCL Jays lost but Kendry Chirinos had two hits. Chirinos, a 19 year old from Venezuela, hit .361 in June primarily playing third base. He is one to watch.
