Buffalo Bisons

With Spencer Horwitz enjoying his time in the bigs, the Buffalo Bisons have turned to some of the team’s other stars this past week as they beat the Worcester Red Sox 5-2 last night.

Addison Barger was held hitless in this game in four trips to the plate but Steward Berroa and Damiano Palmegiani had solid games as Berroa had a run and three hits while Palmegiani had two hits and two RBI’s.

Will Robertson started the Bison’s first scoring drive in the bottom of the six with a double that scored Orelvis Martinez and Rafael Lantigua.

Worcester tied it in their half of the seventh inning at 2 but the Palmegiani single brought home Steward Berroa and Riley Tirotta in the bottom of the seventh to pad Buffalo’s 3-2 lead and make it 5-2.

The Bisons Aaron Sanchez (2-2, 9.00) will pitch Thursday against the Red Sox Josh Winckowski (1-2, 4.19). First pitch will be at 6:35pm.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats were shut out 5-0 on Wednesday night by the Richmond Flying Squirrels.

Richmond scored three runs in the fourth and two in the fifth and held the Fishers Cats the rest of the way to win this game.

Nick Sinacola threw a five-inning shutout with three walks and eight K’s while the Cats Devereaux Harrison took the loss and fell to 1-4.

Fisher Cats lefty Adam Macko (4-2, 3.60) will pitch on Thursday night against the Flying Squirrels Right-hander Wil Jensen (3-2, 1.91). First pitch will be at 6:35pm.

Dunedin Blue Jays

The Dunedin Blue Jays and the Bradenton Pirates squared off for two games on Wednesday as a makeup for a rainout on June 11th. The Blue Jays took both games of the doubleheader, 8-4 in Game One and 2-1 in Game Two.

Game One.

Game one of the doubleheader saw Dunedin roar out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second only to have Bradenton score 4 in the top of the third thanks to Jerol Toledo’s triple, a Keiner Delgado double, and Omar Alfonzo’s two-run homer. The Blue Jays would score five in the bottom of the fifth inning, capped off by the Jean Joseph single on a ground ball to score Manuel Beltre and Cristian Feliz to make it 7-4.

Game Two.

Jauron Watts-Brown started game two for Dunedin, going five innings while allowing the solo home run against five strikeouts and two walks. Brown now sits at 2-4 on the season with a 3.26 ERA.

Dunedin took the lead in the second inning thanks to an Edward Duran single that scored Alexis Hernandez.

The Pirates struck back in the top half of the third with a Javier Rivas homer but the Blue Jays would score again in the bottom of the fourth inning and close the door the rest of the way on the Pirates.

Dunedin and Bradenton play again today at 6:30 pm local time.
