NOTES

No home runs for the Bisons but they did have seven doubles. Cam Eden had two of them and stole his 49th base of the season. Damiano Palmegiani had two and drove in three runs. He is off to a fast start in AAA. Rafael Lantigua, Orelvis Martinez and Addison Barger also doubled. Barger added a single, Lantigua two singles. Leo Jimenez had two hits, his first in AAA.

Mitch White went five innings, giving up two runs. Yosver Zulueta had been in Florida bur returned for his first appearance in 18 days. He threw a clean inning. Connor Cooke and Zac Pop did too.

A note on Addison Barger. He did not get called up for September. August was his best hitting month of the season. He hit .309 with an OPS of .928. He walked 17 times and struck out 12. That is 12 K's in almost a hundred plate appearances.

Ricky Tiedemann started for NH and went three innings. He struck out five, used 46 pitches as the Jays protect him.

The Fisher Cats scored three runs in the fourth inning. Will Robertson hit a solo shot and Riley Tirotta a two run bomb. Two errors by the Phils gave NH two runs in the sixth. Robertson was 4-4, he had half of the Fisher Cats hits.

Vancouver took a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning. Josh Kasevich reached on an error, stole second, stole third and scored on another error. In the same inning Garrett Spain doubled and Glenn Santiago singled him in. Spain and Santiago had two hits each, the rest of the lineup totaled two hits.

Andres Tolhurst made his second start, and this one was much better. He struck out seven in 4.2 scoreless innings. The Hops scored four runs in the seventh thanks, in part, to an error by Estiven Machado, his twelfth. All four runs were unearned as Hillsboro hit a two out home run after the error.

A seven run sixth inning propelled the D Jays to a win. The first two runs were similar, Nick Goodwin gets on base and Brennan Orf drives him in. Orf was the only Jay with two hits. The big hit in the seven run inning was a three RBI double from Tucker Toman. Jave Bohrofen then drove in Toman.

Rafael Ohashi was your starter, three runs allowed in five innings.

A lot of great performances by the Bisons' hitters, especially in the last few months. Who knows how well Schneider, Horwitz etc. perform in the near future in the majors but maybe someone deserves some credit for turning some unheralded prospects into contributors. Also - Ohashi rules.

Hopefully the time Zulueta spent at the complex helped. This is only the second time this season where he has gone 3 appearances in a row without issuing a walk.

Looking at minor league leader boards, well the International League at at least...
Walks: 2nd (Rafael Lantigua), 3rd (Spencer Horwitz), 8th (Davis Schneider); CS: 6th (Lantigua 23-8 SB-CS); Avg: 4th (Horwitz 337), OBP: 1st (Horwitz 450), 8th (Lantiqua); Slg: 5th (Schneider 553); OPS: 3rd (Schneider), 6th (Horwitz); Doubles: 4th (Lantigua), 6th (Horwitz); Triples 8th (Otto Lopez);  Runs 4th (Lantigua); SF: 1st (Lantigua), IBB: 1st (Horwitz 3); BABIP: 2nd (Horwitz); ISO: 3rd (Schneider); BB%: 1st (Schneider)

Seems a few guys are all over it - Horwitz, Schneider, and Lantigua.  Two are up, Lantigua isn't coming up though unless we see more injuries.  No pitchers made any leaderboards it seems with a quick check - just aren't pitching enough innings to qualify..

Next years AAA team will be loaded with players ready to step in for the Jays. Schneider and Horwitz have already proven something. The stars will be Orelvis, Barger IF/OF, L Jimenez, D Palmegiani already up and Roden who should be there soon. At some point Tiedemann, C Dallas and M Dominguez will be up. The Pen is loaded with hard throwers.

AA will get all the Vancouver players that made team very strong. Vancouver will probably be weak. I hope Dunedin is strong especially in pitching which is where I see strength.
