An interesting oddity we normally don't pay attention to here. The Bisons had 4,314 fans - more than 2 of the past 3 games the A's had at home in Oakland. The Bisons have averaged 2,371 per game. Twice the A's have been below 3k. I suspect the A's would be doing better if they played all home games in Buffalo - Jays were there from June 15th to July 21st - smallest crowd was 5456, 5 games over 10k, 12 under 10k. With COVID restrictions. 16,600 max capacity. A's have a capacity of 46-56k (they keep 10k seats tarped up). Opening day their only day over 20k with 26,805. 9 total days over 10k, 3 more in the 5-9,999 size, and 6 more sub 5k. So the A's are doing a bit better than the Jays in Buffalo but with zero restrictions and far, far higher capacity. Crazy stuff. New Hampshire has averaged 3,692 for AA baseball, Vancouver 2,472 (A+), Dunedin is happy to have anyone show up (417 per game). When an A+ team can see more fans showing up for any game than a ML team that is a problem.

Rougher start for Brandon Barriera today. With two out in the first inning he hit a batter. That was followed by three singles. Throw in a stolen base and a balk and Clearwater scored three. Two of the three hits were on the ground and both were at 78 mph, so a bit of bad luck for Barriera.

His next two innings were excellent, one walk which he promptly picked off.

Nope. Jimenez did not come to the plate and seemingly was not involved in any plays. Maybe he wasn't hurt.

He was pulled mid inning after making a defensive play. I think that suggests an injury.
