Buffalo ended its 2022 season on a losing note.
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre 3 Buffalo 0
Derek Dietrich took Hayden Juenger deep in the second inning and that was all the Yankees affiliate needed. Juenger gave up two hits and two walks and struck out one over 2-1/3 innings to take the loss. Adrian Hernandez stranded a Juenger runner and pitched 1-2/3 innings of shutout ball, whiffing two and walking one. Yosver Zulueta yielded two unearned runs on two walks and hit a batter but struck out two over 1-2/3 innings. Kyle Johnston prevented a Zulueta runner from scoring and put up 2-1/3 shutout frames despite a hit and two walks, striking out one.
The Herd were held to three hits. Luis De Los Santos had a double, a walk and a stolen base. Yoshi Tsutsugo also got aboard twice with a single and a walk. L.J. Talley had the other base hit. Juan Gonzalez drew a walk and stole a base in his Triple-A debut after splitting the season with Dunedin and the Florida Complex League Blue Jays. The Bisons finish the 2022 season with a record of 76 wins and 72 losses, finishing nine games back of the first-place Durham Bulls.

This is the final minor league recap of 2022. It’s hard to believe I’ve been doing these weekly recaps since 2007. Time sure flies, doesn’t it? On behalf of my friend and fellow Irishman Gerry McDonald, thanks a million for reading all season long. Stay tuned as I’m sure Gerry and myself and perhaps a guest or two will get around to putting together the Top 30 Blue Jays prospects list for 2023. You’re also invited to check out csplusbaseball.ca as there are a few more chats in the vault with members of the 2022 Vancouver Canadians that will be posted in the coming weeks. Again, thanks a million for reading. Looking forward to 2023 already but first, the Blue Jays have a World Series to win!
